I spent 3 months in [http://www.hotelkaranpalace.co.in/ The Karan Palace hotel] which was ideally situated about 100 yards away from where I was working in Goregaon East (literally on the Eastern side of the railway and very close to Goregain station. The hotel room I had was on the third floor and with a charming view out over the streets of Mumbai. There was a tree right outside the hotel which extended right up to my window and from which you could see lots of birds an rodent wildlife. Generally I found the staff friendly and courteous but what drove me mad was the lift (which I never used much to the staff' surprise as they treated it as the jewel of the hotel) which had this irritating American women's voice repeating "please close the door, please close the door" every time the lift door opened, and this opccurred night and day.

Hotel Located next to Goregaon Station, i could not find any hotel near by so i have no option. The Hotel is not clean, however the basic things are available. Bath room is very bad. But for the same price i could find good hotel in 4 kms distance i immediately checked out.

I stayed here becuase I did not find any other hotel over the Internet to stay in Goregaon. I did not expect much and did not get much. I had selected the best room in the hotel. It was AC but not much cold. It had bathroom in which the tap did not work, only shower did. Cleanliness was such that I did not feel like sitting in the tub. Toilet did not have tissue role and was not provided even after request. I saw two cockroaches in the bathroom throughout the night. Food is not prepared in the hotel and has to be oredered from outside.

The hotel has 21 rooms which are equipped with basic modern amenities. The hotel is basically a no-frills hotel but does take care of your basic, everyday needs. You will have air-conditioning, telephone, color TV, private bathroom in your room. And, ofcourse a newspaper wil be delivered to you door every morning.

The hotel is easily accessible through a wide road leading to the east side of Goregaon station. NESCO & NIRLON office complex are only 10 minutes drive away. The hotel's location is ideal if you are travelling to Mumbai to attend one of business / commercial exhibitions at NESCO or any of the offices in these premises. Mindspace, Malad office complex is only 30 minutes drive from the hotel. The local staion itself is only 2 minutes walk away. For serious shoppers, the Oberoi Mall and The Hub Mall both in Goregaon East are only 10 minutes from the hotel. The Inorbit Mall, Malad is only 35 minutes by rikshaw. Conveniently located, it is a 30 minutes drive from the domestic airport. Other places to check out while staying here are, Film city and Essel world.

Being really honest, you cannot expect too much from Hotel Karan Palace. This is a budget hotel located near Goregaon station east side in the heart of sub-urban Mumbai. If ypu are
going to spend your entire day outdoors and just need an inexpensive, decent, neat, clean place to sleep at night in Mumbai, this is it. Maximum bang for your buck !
