“Dissapointed Stay”

I have had 2 bad nightmare staying in this hotel. I booked Best Western Hotel at Sahil Mumbai via an travel agent in Malaysia. I get my room paid in Malaysia. When I checked out, the manager said that they have no recored indicating that I have paid for room in Malaysia. After their calling, they eventually said i have paid the room in Malaysia.

The second thing is i left my business card holder at the room. When i checked out, I orget to take it with me. I called the next day, they said they didn;t find any business card holder in my room. I was pretty sure that I left it in the room. Because, when i do luggae packing, I was still figuring out how to put my business card holder in my luggage. Though, a business card holder cost few dollars. But, it indicates that teh staff there is not honest enough to return back the leftover left by the customers.

I will never choose to stay in any of the best western francising hotel, is best western is just name, it doesn;t reflect anything best for me.

Room Tip: don;t stay here

“No way”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

My partner and I stayed in 14 hotels in India the past month. This place is #14 out of 14. In addition I have stayed in my Best Western properties in various countries. This is the worst.

We checked in around 10 p.m. Our room was unkempt. Old sheets, towels, etc. I realized I didn't want to walk barefoot on the floor ... obvious spots and stains from spills, sand, long black hairs, etc. Housekeeping came promptly and swept up a half-full dustpan of debris and mopped the floor. We tried to put the two twin beds together, but quickly gave up when we saw what was underneath the beds.

Breakfast offered little for a western diet ... juice, the corn flakes I would never eat at home, and warm bread (warmed--not toasted) with the basic omlette special order.

About the last thing I'm interested in doing on vacation is talking with a hotel manager about problems. I want a vacation from problems. We explained our issues to the manager the following morning. He was polite and seemed shocked by our issues and couldn't believe them. I told him that he only needed to look under the beds and look at the shower floor (the drain was plugged and no water drained). He feigned a language problem with English; the real problem is that my partner understands and speaks his language perfectly.

Best Western is advertising that it has three classes of properties. This place is at the bottom of the lowest class and does not represent Best Western to me. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place near Central Station don't look here. (As info Central Station does not Host most ONG distance trains).

“City hotel but had rooms dated 1980s”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This hotel is right opposite City Central Mall which is in the city. Good location for me as I need to travel within the city.

The lobby and the Via Restaurant looks very proper and decent. I was allegedly given a triple upgrade on the rooms type but I have to say this is one of the hotels that I am reluctant to return to stay. In short - it is in need for major upgrading works.

The restaurant has quite new furnishing and very inviting. The food was fantastic and was reasonably priced in this restaurant setting.

I had a suite, but it was very old and was told it was never renovated since the hotel was built in 1985.

The lift is very old and doesn't have a Open/Close button. Stalled in the evening when I was trying to go up. Luckily the door was jammed opened and I was able to get out. There's another service lift running beside it which is full of staff.

The staff were all very courteous and helpful though. I have to give them all the compliments but unfortunately this hotel's rooms are just too unacceptable to me. If I were to return to this hotel, it would just be to eat in their restaurant.

I was told they are starting renovation for the rooms and may complete by 2013.

I used to stay in this hotel for last approx two years. It is very conveniently located very near to Mumbai central Railway Station. The staff is very courtesies. Very well maintained. But the one thing which pinches me that they increased tariff so frequently. Otherwise everything is very nice.

“Never again”

Of the 10 hotels where I stayed in India, this was the worst.
We stayed in the 5 th floor, the rooms were small, smelled damp and was very hot and the air conditioning was noisy. Two nights were spent in very bad that barely slept.
The location it's not so good and it's not safe.
