I stayed at The Claridges again in March and May of this year. The overcrowded breakfast room situation has been rectified by allowing people to be seated in another restaurant. A good solution.
In May the room I was allocated initially was noisy - from the elevator shaft or renovations, not sure which. The noise was sporadic and when a member of the staff came to listen they couldn't hear it. Nonetheless they took my word for it and changed my room to a higher floor and further along the corridor. Problem solved.
The central location is perfect and the Claridges ticks all the right boxes: efficient, quietly luxurious, attention to detail.
I'll continue to make this my Delhi hotel of choice.

Room tip: Higher floors are quieter

I love taking weekend get-aways at the Claridges. It's a classy hotel which is close to our home and near Khan Market which is great for eating out. Love relaxing by the pool and the breakfast buffet. You can get a great deal, especially off-season for a 5 Star rating. They have quality service and attention to detail which I greatly appreciate when I can find it in India.

It had only been my second stay with them, yet the recognition and the welcome was stupendous!!! (And to think I was initially planning my night elsewhere!!). Bravo to the team and the Lobby Manager (Udit Mukerji), they have ensured my long-lasting commitment to the brand and perhaps my companies association with them on a much larger scale. The skills, efficiency and the professional approach of Udit and his Reception Team is unparalleled (I happen to be the right judge considering my stays in most of the New Delhi hotels....and I am definitely one of those few demanding customers when it comes to making out of the ordinary requests!!). I shall be returning to Claridges soon.....and the friends I have made with the likes of Udit, Mallika and most of the other people at The Claridges....I can no longer think of any other hotel option...!!

Room tip: When staying at The Claridges, opt for a room with a Balcony..!! It definitely is quite an experience viewing the sunrise with a backdrop of the diplomatic avenue....!! Lutyen's Delhi is trully beautiful and the views from some of these Baclony Rooms is superb..!!

Overall a nice hotel with comfortable rooms and OK pool, although the outside of the hotel looks a bit bland and tired. Attentive staff. However the pool closed quite frequently for up to 24 hours at a time for functions and ‘maintenance’. Check what wireless signals you can pick up as you may not need to pay for internet access.

A good breakfast buffet was included in our room rate but otherwise the restaurant was very expensive (compared to other options in India).

Not much in the area unless you walk to Khan market. However there were plenty of auto-rickshaws always waiting outside to take you around, pay ‘as you like.’
