On the face of it, the hotel has everything you'd be looking for from a 'deluxe budget' hotel in New Delhi. It's located close to the airport (about 20 minutes) but not to far from the main attractions (Dilli Haat is 10 minutes in taxi, 30 minutes to Humuyun's Tomb). It's well appointed and secure. The rooms are recently refurbished and comfortable with TV and fridge, plus en-suite bathrooms.
BUT I found my stay at Hotel Parkland really unenjoyable and exhausting. The attentiveness of the staff was poor, and the management seem intent on over charging for everything. R100 for a coke to have with a meal (a bottle at a attraction costs R40) or R1400 for an airport taxi (when the official price is around R400).
Housekeeping happened but was of a questionable standard, for example I was left without a replacement loo roll for two days, while when I asked for a iron and board I got the iron, but had to wait 30 minutes for the board. The hotel is also incredibly noisy. I've travelled before and was prepared for the noise of traffic, but every time someone in the building flushed the loo you heard! Avoid rooms 101,102, 201, 202, 301 and 302.
