“Terrible Place, A low class disgusting lodge, trying to imitate a 3 star hotel.”

A worst experience from start to finish. Couldnt wait to get out of this place, it was that bad. I booked it last minute, as it was unplanned trip and I needed a hotel close to AIIMS hospital where i had two day training. First of it is not a proper hotel, this is split into to two buildings, with a shop in between, half of this hotel is on top of a maruti showroom, and some bakery. Lift is disgusting, stairs even worse. None of the staff speak english, except those in reception. Food tastes like road kill. The prices are over the roof, they don't even know what continental food is and imitate badly. There is bad insulation between walls, i could hear what is happening in the next room toilet in the morning. Shower has no pressure or hot water, couldnt complete my shower. They charge prices of a up end 3 star hotel, but this is just a cheap low class lodge. Was meant to stay for 2 days but checked out and moved to different hotel. Rooms are bad, gives you a feeling that you shouldnt be here. The tv was far from bed and out of focus. I was releived after i checked out. Funny thing, i ordered some dessert and they had tuti - fruity, which has been a favorite from child hood, but after eating from this place , i think different, they gave me a scoop of vanilla ice cream with some cheap dried fruit sprinkled on top, i was disgusted as it tasted really bad. they charged one hundred and eighty five ruppes for that scoop of ice cream, it was unbeleivable. Like i said, one terrible experience. Dont beleive a word they mention in their website, it is a load of crap.

“Not recomended to any one”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2011

Rooms are very small, House keeping is very very poor, cockroaches are very much in room.

In restaurant, it is a very common room with old furniture, choices are very limited HOWEVER the charges are skie high.

I cannot recommend any star for this hotel.

“Good Location, comfortable stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

I stayed here for a night. The hotel was ideally located for my travel to various parts of the Capital.

Rooms were a bit smaller, but the toilets quite big. Bed was comfortable and had a good sleep. Breakfast was ready early, so I could get going in the morning. Overall the stay was ok but the rroms could have been a bit better & brighter.

“Not what I expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2011

On the face of it, the hotel has everything you'd be looking for from a 'deluxe budget' hotel in New Delhi. It's located close to the airport (about 20 minutes) but not to far from the main attractions (Dilli Haat is 10 minutes in taxi, 30 minutes to Humuyun's Tomb). It's well appointed and secure. The rooms are recently refurbished and comfortable with TV and fridge, plus en-suite bathrooms.

BUT I found my stay at Hotel Parkland really unenjoyable and exhausting. The attentiveness of the staff was poor, and the management seem intent on over charging for everything. R100 for a coke to have with a meal (a bottle at a attraction costs R40) or R1400 for an airport taxi (when the official price is around R400).

Housekeeping happened but was of a questionable standard, for example I was left without a replacement loo roll for two days, while when I asked for a iron and board I got the iron, but had to wait 30 minutes for the board. The hotel is also incredibly noisy. I've travelled before and was prepared for the noise of traffic, but every time someone in the building flushed the loo you heard! Avoid rooms 101,102, 201, 202, 301 and 302.

“okey dokey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2010

Parkland Safdarjung is a centrally located hotel in the business district of South Delhi. The rooms are well furnished but no central heating makes it a very painful experience in the peak Delhi winter. There have been occasions when the room looked great but the TV or AC wasn't working. Also the food isn't something to rave about. Plus they won't give you the individual room service bills, only one consolidated bill. This can create problems for executives like me who have to submit all F&B bills to the company for reimbursement
