After a tiring day of sightseeing in kandy we arrived at this hotel at 10pm only to be told by the owner that our room had been given away to another traveller! The owner was very rude, not apologetic in any way (making out it was our fault that it had been given away) or even helpful in trying to find another hotel! This greedy man lead us to spend the next hour frantically searching for another hotel in kandy (which turned out to be much better and cheaper!)! From the owners attitude to the poor, untidy and low standard reception, I wouldn't bother even thinking about staying here!

We have stayed twice over the past 2 years and would not hesitate to revisit - highly recommended.

We stayed here for 6 days in January 2012 and loved it. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and Sue gave us lots of background information on Sri Lanka. The rooms sparkle and the views from the balcony are beautiful and peaceful. Can't say enough about Faiesz's magnificent nightly buffets -- a must do even if you don't stay here. Great value.

A warm welcome, a spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom and the most delicious Sri Lankan dinner and an excellent breakfast. We stayed here twice. The first time on the first floor overlooking the garden with a lovely little balcony. The second time we were on the very top floor with the most wonderful views of Kandy Lake and the Sacred Temple. This room was also very well furnished, beautifully clean and had a balcony. High praise to Fais and Sue who work so very hard to make your stay everything you want it to be. They gave us excellent advice and help with our travel arrangements for onward train travel. The free internet is a boon to the weary traveller, whether you are using the one they provide for guest use or your own computer.
