Built during British colonial times to archetypal design standards... and seems to have barely changed since. The rooms are GOOD VALUE for money and you get a nice feeling of being in the colonies! If you don't know means then you might not appreciate the "hanging in there" nature of the hotel and might notice some of the dilapidation!

Central location and within spitting distance of the tooth temple; easy walk to the bus or train station.

Kandy is quite bad for getting hassled by con artists and tuk tuk drivers demanding extravagent fares. Keep your wits about you and agree a fare of no more than Rs 50 per km and you'll be fine.

Old. Really old hotel. It seems good, historic etc., but they didn't do anything inside since.... I don't know 18... ok, who knows. You can hear a person in another room. Bath is very dirty. Food is not good. The only thing why we went there was the place. It is near the Buddha's tooth temple. So you don't need to spend much time for this. We spent there just one night on that very uncomfortable bed... So don't go there.

This hotel was once the height of decadence and luxury, unfortunately it now needs a complete overhaul to reach anywhere near its former glory. The rooms were ok, decent size and full of period furniture it was just tired...

Whilst an excellent location for all that Kandy has to offer the hotel does front two main roads and is very noisy from about 6.00am

The hotel is cheap, the bar reasonably priced, one of the reception staff did have an attitude problem...as though still livingif the hotel's former formal glory...

Beware...there are only three pubs in Kandy and all close at 10.00pm, one has live footi,,
