We stayed at the Topaz for one night on a 4 day tour. The setting is very nice, though up a very steep hill from the town, and the are very gardens well kept. The hotel generally is OK outside and in the public areas, including the restaurant, with a pretty good evening buffet and excellent breakfast, service was rather slow though. The big downside for us was the room, clean but small and rather scruffy, desperately needing a good refurbishment. The beds were clean and comfortable but the shower had no cold supply working so was scaldingly hot and the hair dryer was dangerous, appearing to be partly melted and with heating elements open to fingers. This could be a much better hotel with some investment from the owners.
