We were given friendly service at every turn and the view from the fourth floor was absolutely stunning! The food wasn't too bad, considering what we were paying but I felt that our suite was a tad dusty.

Rooms were very good and had a lovely view of the hills around Kandy. Hotel is located on top of a hill and is not walking distance to the centre of town (tuk tuk costs about 300-350r). Nice bar with free wi-fi. Service was very good. Our dinner in the restaurant was disappointing.

I am glad we did not have to walk to the hotel since it is located on a hilltop, and the road is rollercoaster-like with ups and downs and twists and turns.
The reception area is grand with a bar and a jewellers shop (I wonder how many customers they have in an average day).
The room we had was nice enough, but the aircondition was rather noisy and the control panel in need of a replacement. The room had a balcony with a great view. One evening we sat there we witnessed a most beautiful sunset. When the dark came a lot of bats whizzed by.
The room had an electric mosquito killer, but no free drinking water and no minibar.
The food in the buffet restaurant was good and the service good.
We did not visit the pool which is located a bit downhill from Hotel Topaz, but we could see it from the restaurant and it looked clean enough.

The rooms are big enough. The beds are good. It was clean. It is no luxury hotel of course, but perfect for a stay of few days if you don't wan't to spend the whole day at the hotel. I didn't try the pool or the spa...no time.
The staff is very nice and kind. The hotel is highly located, so the vieuw is excellent.
Breakfast was ok, they had everything you wanted.
I guess it is a good standard.
