Based on the quality of the room, possibly not the cheapest room in Kandy, but what you pay for is the magnificent view of the lake in Kandy. However, the room was comfortable, the AC worked, the bathroom was modern and good quality and the hot water flowed almost instantly. Also, there was a minibar which, unusually, was very quiet. Getting a minibar in the lower end of mid-range accommodation in Sri Lanka was rare. Also, good quality TV with satellite broadcasting available. Breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly and welcoming. For lunch and dinner there is a restaurant, which is seriously overpriced. You would eat there only if you wanted to enjoy the view at length. Solely because of the view, this turns a reasonable quality hotel into pretty good value for money.
