“Poor choice for Sagada”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Take note, the crappy room cost 1500 Pesos per night (in a town that has better quality rooms for 200 pesos!!!) Walked in to the bathroom to see a enormous cock roach, no hot water, soap, or toilet paper. The hotel is placed in a remote area, 15 minute drive / 35-50 minute trek from town. That's okay, Sagada town is not the attraction in the area, but most of the activities are in the town's direction so you need to do extra trekking (which is fine, but over and over and over again?) The trek from town to Rock Inn is boring and not scenic and a big waste of energy & time you can use on better treks. They offer 2 free shuttles from town, after that it's 150 Pesos. It's a TOURIST TRAP. It's so remote there is no wifi signal if you have Globe. Also doesn't have internet/wifi (200 peso per night hotels in town have wifi, and a signal)

Poor but pricey food (better to eat in town) and you have to go searching for a waiter/waitress when you need something. Got little sleep because of a crying baby (the walls are very thin). After sleeping maybe 2 hours, I asked them to take me to town, I found an amazing lodge there with a sweet lady that gave me a clean room (with a view) for 200 pesos. Sleep quality was 500 x better here than at Rock inn.

So Rock Inn was basically the worst TOURIST TRAP that I've seen in the Philippines. Don't stay there if you want a good Sagada experience!!!

Room Tip: None of them, pick another hotel.

“Rock Inn does not rock!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We booked two rooms (Executive and Mini Executive Room) at Rock Inn 2 month ahead of our trip to Sagada. Upon arrival we found a decent looking and nice sourrounded hotel with a cozy restaurant area and we thought, we did the right choice. The only thing was a bit disturbing was the sound of the TV but someone was probably in love with Michael Buble....so we understood this by then.
Unfortunately we got the information, that our prebookrd rooms were not ready and we had to wait a bit. We took it easy and had some coffee in the garden but after 45 minutes of waiting we asked again whats going on and the staff told us we could store our luggage in a temporary room and change later to our rooms. We aggreed on that and placed our baggage in a dormitory-looking room.
Later on we returned to Rock Inn and we were by then told that this dormitory barrack room is the "Executive Room". ...Surprise, surprise! We got then also the "Mini Executive Room", what was roughly 1 square meter smaller- otherwise the same with humpy barrack style shelfs and untreatened wooden wall panels. On the same floor was also the rooms for the employees and they did not really mind on us and "shared their conversations and fun" with us through the walls.
Overall there was no sorry or any other way of compensation to us. Rock Inn got a larger number of employees but most of the time they have been busy with the TV or their own children in the middle of the restaurant.
The food was average and needed to be prordered. We visit Rock Inn in Janary- what is still peak season but many dishes or wine was not available.
We can say only: Never again Rock Inn!

Room Tip: Avoid this place

“Perfect for Families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

It was our family's second time to stay at the Rock Inn in Sagada (the first was in December 2008). We stayed in their Executive Room, which has two double beds that will fit four adults. It was a corner room located on their first floor, which had windows on two sides, and had its own hot/cold shower. The room had two electrical outlets. We are very happy with their pleasant service and the homey ambiance. It feels very secluded and quiet due to its distance from town. Accommodations are basic, clean and affordable. Food is a bit on the pricier side compared to the other restaurants in town, but we chose to eat at the inn because of the convenience of having your meal ready when you get out of your room. The inn is two km away from the town center, and when you take the turnoff from the main road, there is a bit of a rough road (about 500m) to the inn. Recommended for travelers who have their own vehicle, since it is quite a distance from town. Suitable also for big groups since the inn has a large dining area and some bunk rooms.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the 2nd floor. Since we stayed in the 1st floor, there were times when we could...

“Nice secluded place for family and friends”

They have good food and lots of Orange trees. You can pick the fruits and eat them there after paying 50 pesos. They have very good ambiance. I believe they are the most luxurious hotel in Sagada. But if you will stay there, be sure to take the rooms on the 2nd floor, because the ceiling, walls and top floor are made of wood, so if children are playing (running/slamming doors) everyone on the ground floor can hear it, loud and clear.

Room Tip: Pick the rooms on the top floor.

“Perfect for big groups”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

2km to the town proper. We were 33 in our group. Our room had 4 double deck beds with nice blankets and pillows. It has basic amenities like towels, hot water and clean bath room.
They also have a common bath room in each floor in case you need it since 8 people will have to share in one bath room. They have this fireplace where you could hang out for drinks. In the Cafe food was okay but not too great. Overall our stay was pleasant and will definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: Choose the ground floor
