We had had a few disappointing hostel stays during our trip to Peru so we actually cancelled another hostel upon arriving to Aguas Calientes and splurged on this instead. It was well worth the money, especially since we were up early for Machu Picchu and wanted somewhere nice to get to bed early the night before and rest once we returned later the next day. We booked this place after discovering it when we ate in the hotel restaurant (which is also amazing) so it was pricey ($200 US/night). Had we known about it would have booked before arriving to get a better rate (however did not see it on expedia). Staff was very friendly. Definitely the nicest place to stay at Machu Picchu (unless you can afford the other $600 / night options) and the included bufet breakfast was the best ever. The gardens inside the hotel are also quite nice, even though we didn't spend anytime there. Located next to main plaza and bus station so you only need to walk 500m to line up for the MP bus at 4am!

I would definitelly stay in this hotel again. It might not be the best one in the area but worked for both of us. Probably the best one we stayed on our trip to Peru.

Machu Picchu Inn isn't the best hotel in Aguas Calientes, but it pretty much does the job. We stayed there for a week and the breakfast buffet (came with the booking) was fine. There was a newly-opened bar and the service was good. The rooms were spacious. We actually had to move two times. The first room had a queen bed and we needed 2 twin beds. In the second room, we could hear some music from a bar outside, so we moved again. The staff was responsive about this and did the move efficiently. My major complaints are that 1) the vent in the bathroom allows noise from the room below to be heard (fortunately, we only heard people chatting, but it would've been nice to not hear anything at all, 2) the walls are thin and during the day, I could hear the staff cleaning and loudly moving stuff around in the adjacent rooms (not the best place/time to nap). They definitely clean the rooms everyday though, and are generous with bottled water. The front desk was friendly, courteous and arranged for our laundry efficiently. There's a computer in the lobby with internet, but the connection is very slow. The hotel's location is tops and right smack in the center of Aguas Calientes--a short walk to the buses to Machu Picchu, market, etc., etc.

I had booked [paid in advance] another inn [which was a disaster] in the area but decided to pay extra and changed to Machu Picchu Inn after this hotel gave me a tour of the rooms.
This is definitely the cleanest, newest and safest hotel to stay in the area. This hotel was completely renovated few months ago, rooms are all white & spotless, had new windows, new bed & linens, flat screen TV with multiple channels, robes and nice toiletries. Only downside is that the bathrooms were partly renovated and the shower area is dark with no light after you draw the shower curtain. Free WIFI is only available at the lobby and cafe area.
The hotel has an airy open cafe area next to the lobby for breakfast which served a good variety of bread, cakes, cereal, fruits and individually prepared eggs. There is also a nice bar area.
The staff are all friendly, polite and service oriented.
I highly recommend this hotel.
