This little gem has to rate as one of the best value B&B's in Thailand. Meao and Malcolm have created a lovely retreat that is less than a 10 minute drive from Old Sukhothai. The location is quiet; a small slice of rural Thailand. The rooms are basic but immaculate, air-conditioned, the pool well maintained, and the hosts incredibly accommodating. We were very happy to find a good sized refrigerator in the room. Breakfast can be brought to the B&B or taken on the terrace of their restaurant in downtown. Most guests opt for a traditional English breakfast, but when we asked for pad thai with an additional egg, we were warmly obliged. We also ate all of our dinners there and enjoyed lovely Thai curries.

Upon arrival, Malcolm met us in our rental vehicle and led us to his Guest House. He and Meao were patient with our questions and offered great advice on what to see in the large surrounding area, in what order and even arranged for a 3 wheeled taxi and courteous driver.

I am a bird-watcher and was delighted to find many species represented in and around their establishment. All in all, a place that we hope to visit over and over every time we return to the what has to be one of the best and safest countries in the world to visit. If you don't have your own vehicle, Malcolm will help arrange all transportation.

“hospitable mountain view guest house”

This guest house is quite the best guest house we have stayed in while i have been in thailand. set around rice fields and close to the mountains with lush tropical gardens with a lovely pool for the hottest part of the day.
the breakfast, corn flakes, toast and jam as much as you wanted along with an endless supply of coffee topped of by a large plate of fruit is included in the price of 750 thai baht about 20 u.s. dollars.
The rooms are a good size with a front terrace, large bed, mini bar, hot and cold shower, and yes a european toilet, with air con.
the owners will take you from the guest house to the historical park of sukhothai or to there restaurant in the main street free of charge. YES FREE OF CHARGE.

Disliked — to far to walk anywhere
Tips/Secrets — tuk tuk from sukhothai bus station wanted to take us to all different guest house first.

“quite and peacefull mountain view guest house”

this guest house is quite and peacefull set around rice fields and close to the mountains but only 4 kms from the famous old city of sukhothai.
the owners give free transportation to and from the historical park as well as to and from there restaurant the M.V.RESTAURANT.
guest houses are large with a big double bed ,mini bar,hot showers,and a western toilet with a cost of 750 thai baht inc a great breakfast about 21 us dollars.

Disliked — nothing
Tips/Secrets — check the price of taxis as they seem to charge what they like

“great guest house”

this guest house is set 4 kms.from the centre of the historical city of sukhothai near the mountains & surrounded by rice fields.
we were booked in for one night but stayed three as they have a pool and is very quite .
rooms have air con with mini bar terrace large double bed for 750 thai baht a night for 2 people inc. breakfast.
they also have cheaper rooms for 450 baht with fan only.
while we there we also visted the national park & walked the 4 kms to the top of the mountain very good fun for the fit people amongest you.
