“Great time, very hospitable owner”

Clean rooms with the best air condition I had in Thailand (you can set it to a temperature of your choice) in a quiet location for a fair price.

Malcolm was really helpful with helping me what to see within the one day I had only. He also picked me up from town and even drove me to Phitsanulok in the middle of the night where I had to catch my night train - for the normal price a taxi driver would have charged.

All in all, Malcolm is probably the most hospitable person I've ever met and this made the short stay really enjoyable - I'll recommend this to my friends.

“Owner Malcolm made our stay a wonderful experience”

This lovely guest house is run by an English man, Malcolm and his Thai wife. The guest house is situated by the old town and is secluded and peaceful. Malcolm was extremely helpful and informative. He would take us by car to the main part of the old town where you could rent bikes and had a choice of restaurants, including their restaurant.
We arrived feeling tired and not wanting to venture out so we ordered a take out meal from their restaurant and ate it on our front porch. Internet was available at an hourly rate. They have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi which looked very welcoming.
The room had a cottage like feel, hot shower, TV, air-con, fridge with mini bar, DVD's and player. Breakfast was included, fresh fruit, toast, cereal and eggs if you wanted. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay and would love to go back there one day.

  • Liked — Malcolm's friendliness and the tranquil location
  • Disliked — nothing bad to say about the place

“Fantastic!”

We were only here for 1 night, but a great place to stay! Malcolm, the owner picked us up, took us back into town for the bike hire and in the evening he got all of us a take away. The next morning he again took us into town and even walked us to the busstop. Excellent service, lovely room. It is only a few km away from the historic park and you can cycle back (dont get lost like we did, we forgot our map).

“Amazing place, one in a kind!”

We wanted to stay for 3 nights but is was so pleasent, relaxing and most of all friendly that we stayed for 10 nights and still didn't want to leave. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing, and quiet place in an beautiful environment, don't look any further. This is the place to be. It's 5 min drive with a motorbike or 15 min with a bicycle to old sukhothai, and all the transport can be arranged for you. When you e-mail them, they pick you up at the busstation and helps you planning all the things you want to do. The only sound you will hear are the birds and the animals around you, what else do you need! Malcolm and Meao will do anything to make your visit worth it! And it is!
And if you have time, there is a lot more to see and to do around Sukhothai that is mentioned in most of the books.

  • Liked — friendly and hospitallity and environment
  • Disliked — nothing

“Enjoyed the stay and hospitality”

I had stayed at the MV guesthouse for 5 nights in Oct 07, and i must say it was a very pleasant stay. the rooms was big enough and had all the necessary basic amenites, if u r not looking for anything fancy or posh.

it is located outside the historical park wall of the southern site, but that was not hindarance as Malcolm provided transport to the old city without any extra charges, it is about 4 - 5 km out of the southern entrance.

Malcolm was also helpful by providing suggestions on what to do and how to do it. if he does not know, he is honest enough to let u know exactly that.
