A lovely retreat and stay over place with super bungalows in a riverside setting, ver beautiful and oeaceful, very few foreigners, very good value for money.

Room Tip: al the rooms are set near the river, the nearer the better as the sound of the river and river edge...

“Very disappointing”

We cannot agree more with the review titled:"Do not let the website mislead you". We had also been lured by the incredible pictures on this hotel's website but when we got there we were so disappointed...the hotel is nice and the staff too, but the location is not worth the trip. The hotel is next to a very busy road, so you can hear the traffic all day and night. The river is brown and not suitable for swimming and the only interesting attractions are far away. Besides, the hotel has a very small common area next to the brownish river with a view to very common bushes, so you cannot really enjoy the "rain forest" as one should imagine.

“Good base for visiting nearby National Parks. Mature 'rainforest' setting on the banks of a river.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2010

This is an excellent place to base oneself for trips to the Thung Salaeng Luang and Phu Hin Rong Kla National Parks, both of which are well worth a visit. The hotel itself is starting to show some signs of age, but is well maintained and the setting is lovely (if a little gloomy under the canopy of trees, but hey, this is meant to be a 'rainforest'!). Weather cool in December, but still humid so the rooms can smell a bit damp and nothing dries quickly - but again this is a very rainforesty and atmospheric setting so this is all in keeping with the theme! Service very friendly with excellent English spoken by the ever-present Manager, Khun Phunee, who understands the foibles of Western visitors and does her best to accommodate them! There's no pool but you can swim in the river as lng as there's been no recent torrential rain upstream - a very refreshing experience after a long day of hiking!

“Don't let the website mislead you !!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

we stayed 1 night (as a stop from our trip Chiang Mai- Bangkok). The food wasn't so good. Ok, accomodation (restaurant, rooms.)) is good but not what you expect after visiting their website. 45 Km from Pitsanoulok, but Nothing to do. We were very happy to leave after 1 night, we would be so bored.. The host was very very friendly, nothing wrong about here...
The big problem is that the website gives you so much expectations. The real thing isn't even close ...

“No reason to go”

We were swayed by the Frenchman's review and decide to go out of our way to book this hotel for two nights. We drove 60 KM from Phitsanulok to find this place. They are destroying the forest they are built in the middle of!
We found that this hotel is NOT at all environmentally friendly with huge airconditioning units in the middle of the open air restaurant in the fores, as well as each and every room. 3 sad looking parrots are chained to the entrance of the restaurants, and they are clearly distressed and crying out. Slow service, mediocre food, a staff that speaks no english, nothing to do. The waterfalls and trails they advertise on their website are pityful and 50 Km away. You can't go rafting if the river is almost dry and anyway it is a brown uninviting muck. The hotel looks nothing like their website, which is very misleading. The rooms are worse for wear, and all this for about 65 euros per night. We left after one night and still haven't been refunded the prepaid second night. Oh, and we found out that the Frenchman reviewing the hotel on this site is actually an owner. Don't go!
