“Very nice and new bungalows next to the beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2011

We stayed in Red Snapper for 6 nights and we really enjoyed the place. Location was perfect, just 2 min from Pra hae beach and near the mainroad. Bungalow was spacious, modern and cozy, decorated with good style.
Only drawback was that staff was not really helpful because too busy with the restaurant and we had to ask several times for cleaning the room.
We ate one time at the restaurant and it was very good, even if more expensive than an average thai meal.

“Lovely new bungalows and amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2011

We stayed at Red Snapper over the Christmas Holidays and for this reason we booked the bungalows many months before. Joyce, the owner, did not ask us to send a deposit and when we got there she also upgraded us to the new bungalows. I was travellling with my husband and my dad and we had two lovely bungalows with a large bathroom and a huge patio. The bungalows are only 100 metres away from the beginning of the beach and it is an easy walk to the nicest part of the beach. As everybody has said , the food is fantastic and if it true that it is more expensive than some of the local restaurants it comes out much cheaper that other restaurants of the same level. Joyce and Ed have been working in one of the best restaurant in Italy and you can taste it in the cooking.
I will surely go back to Red Snapper if I pass by Ko Lanta another time!!!!

“Great Experience at Red Snapper”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

My girlfriend and I stayed at Red Snapper for a week after New Years 2011. We booked the Superior room which was very recently built and was equipped with air conditioning, fridge, and a huge bathroom. We checked out other bungalows in the area and we didn't find anything that we'd consider a better deal for the money.

The owners Ed and Joyce are super nice and helpful and the restaurant is very good.

“Fantastic little bungalows - great value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

Myself and my husband stayed at Red Snapper bungalows for 3 nights in November 2010. We found the bungalows SUCH great value for 13quid a night (650bht). The bungalows are set off the road so we had a great nights sleep. They are about a 5 minute walk to the beach. The bungalows have really funky decor and the thing we liked most was the little veranda we had outside our room with a little table and chairs facing the field at the back, it felt really secluded and really peaceful. The hospitality and welcome from the owners was wonderful, a really lovely (I think Dutch) couple who have got a fantastic restaurant on the property. I've read some great reports on the food and the menu looked fantastic, but was little on the pricey side for us cheapie backpackers, so unfortunately we couldn't try it, but would have loved to. A great little find in Ko Lanta, fantastic value :-) we're in Thailand for another 3 weeks, so if we decide to head back to Ko Lanta, we'll go straight to Red Snapper. Oh there's quite a few mozzies around the veranda, but we bought a mozzie coil/jostick type thingy and that kept them away no probs. (Ah only one downside that would have been nice, but I'm sure they'll get it soon, is wifi around the property, only saying this as my sister was due to have a baby whilst we were there so we had to keep on trekking up to the internet cafe to check on emails. ) oh and has a big fridge which was really handy for cold water!

“Wonderful value modern bungalow option in Koh Lanta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2010

We stayed at the Red Snapper for 4 nights after transferring from Fisherman's Cottage to find lower-priced accommodation.

As it was quiet in Koh Lanta that week we managed to negotiate a price of 500 Baht (£10) per night for the bungalow which was seriously good value for the quality of the bungalow.

The bungalow had a HUGE bed. They type of bed that's perfect in hot weather when being too close to your partner can be uncomfortable and you both need room to spread out. The bed was also incredibly comfortable with colourful bedding and good quality pillows. The bedding was changed and room cleaned every 2 days.

The bathroom was both modern and spotlessly clean with an electric shower and fabulous water pressure - much appreciated after a day in the salty water of the sea.
There was fan strategically placed opposite the bed and the shuttered windows opened and could be left open as they were protected by metal bars. The doors of the bungalow also open fully to allow the air to circulate around the room while you relax on the terrace hammock.

Perhaps the most useful addition to the bungalow was the full-sized brand new fridge in which we were able to store milk, butter, beers and water meaning we could cater for ourselves for breakfast and lunch and spend our money treating ourselves to the many food options at night.

If you stay here please treat yourself to food at the Red Snapper restaurant as the food is phenomenal and well worth the investment.

As for the hosts, perfectly friendly and accommodating but gave you the peace and privacy one expects on holiday.

For us, this was a 5 out of 5 place to stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Lanta especially if you want something a little quieter just off the beach which is only 2 minutes walk away.
