4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

I visited this hotel in the month of december 2011..quite a good place, but far from the town area and some times it is difficult to get autos from this place to reach town..Good place, has a beautiful flower garden and can have a good view from this place of munnar.
Only drawback is ,being far from town ,difficult for food as it is far from town and food provided by this hotel is not good .

“Too good. Dil khush kar diya.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I visited this hotel with my family for holidays.
The location of this hotel is very good. Since it is a bit in the interior approximately 2 Km away from the market area, so the location maintains its natural look and scene with a very cool, quiet and pleasant climate.
The hotel also has a very beautiful flower garden for kids. There is a small nursery outside the hotel which gives a soothing sight.
There is no swimming pool however.
The rooms are spacious and well put-up and all come with attached balcony.
The food served is good. The staff is polite and courteous.
There is also a small banquet hall for small group parties.
I liked this hotel and would definitely suggest this one.

Great location...just a kilometre off the main market arra. Quiet and serene. Adjacent to an orthodox church. We went in off season so got discount on rooms. Food still a problem. Have to pre order dinner at 6pm or else go to the market. It is supposed to be a place which supports a good cause.

“If you are planing to stay in Munar, why not support a good cause at the same time!!!”

We went there with our extended family and had 5 rooms for two nights.
The hotel is located in a beautiful valley and had a spectacular view of Tea Plantations.
It was a 5 minutes drive from down town Munar which, was actually better than staying in the down town as the view was much much nicer.
The rooms were specious, with balcony and TV.
The price was very reasonable too.
The staff was friendly and tried to help with any request that we had.
After reading on Trip Advisor I understood that there might be a problem with hot water in the shower, therefore I specifically inquired about it and found out that some of the rooms had hot water during all the day, and some only in certain times.

The reason I chose this place was because of their mission which is to help the villagers. They have a nursery school, a development center, a clinic, an ambulance, a church, and probably more things that I am not aware of. I felt that if I was planing to stay in Munar anyway, why not support a good cause at the same time!!!

Some of the not so great things in the hotel were:
1. They did not have a proper restaurant, they only had snacks and simple drinks. If you wanted a proper meal, you needed to inform them half a day in advance and they would prepare it for you. We had to live early in the morning and asked if they can prepare an early breakfast for us . They agreed and provided on time. They also had a room service which we used for the drinks and snacks.
2. The staff didn't speak good English except for the booking manager, which made it little inconvenient for me, however, he was there most of the time so it wasn't a problem.

I warmly recommend this hotel and hope they will be able to continue with their good cause. I hope you will also consider staying at the hotel to support their good cause.

“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

My family and I had a very pleasant stay at Munnar Marthoma Retreat home on the 3rd and 4th of January 2011. The rooms are clean with a wonderful view of the tea estates and gentle slopes of Munnar. The bathrooms were clean and we had running hot water which made the stay very comfortable.Mr Sunil at the reception was extremely helpful and I would recommend this place to any traveller looking for clean and basic comforts
