Stayed for one night at Bella Vista Resort in Munnar... it's actually about 10 minutes drive from Munnar. The hotel is cute at first sight, but room very average, not very clean. There is better choices in Munnar for the price, even a guest house is a much better choice. Lots of bugs and staff so so. I was told wireless would be connected in 5 minutes, 40 minutes later, nothing, I go to reception, no one, everyone is sleeping and didn't connect anything?! I didn't eat so don't know about the food. But Munnar is GORGEOUS!!!! :D

I stayed here for my honeymoon in march 2011. I had booked it after seeing reviews on tripadvisor. I had email conversations and finally paid some part of tariff. I had booked a cab from allepey to bella vista and driver had no problem reaching here. On arrival, manager welcomed us and upgraded our room without any extra cost, coz that time rooms were vacant (though not off-season). We were so much impressed with hospitality & yummy food (may be because of fresh spices of hill & food always hygenic, everything covered with clean and transparant polythene whenever served in room) that stayed for another day. They had own Indica car which we used for site seeing for 2 days....i will strongly recommend this hotel. property is very clean, scenic and view from their restaurant is exellent...........lovely munnar, will come back...

We got enticed by the beautiful photos put up on the website. The exteriors are good with lovely gardens and bright paints. The interiors are horrible and literally offensive. Most of the rooms are smelling of dampness and no amount of spraying freshners could help. Absolutely bare room - no cupboards, hangers, hooks etc. You have to literally live out of the suitcase. The lighting was also poor.
There were just two 3-4 people managing the so-called resort including the manager, cook and gardener. Although the Manager did try to do his best, the service was just not upto it. Thre was a limited menu available and took too much time to be served. Very small portions - not sufficient even for 1 person. Bed tea was not available before 7 am while the buffet b'fast time was 8 am. There were no eggs or fruits included in the b'fast fare, which included a large peg(about 80-90 ml) of fruit juice.
It was at least 12 kms from Munnar town and too much time was spent on commuting up and down. No views to be enjoyed from the place, too.
Would not recommend this place to anybody.

Resort situated very far from main Munnar Town (40 minutes drive) . Terrible service. Just two guys manning the whole resort. Cook takes 2 hours to give room service order. Lack of hygiene with dampened walls & cats licking off the plates left outside the room. No electricity or food between 2-8 pm.
