Aleksander villa is truly a very, very nice place to stay. The family run villa houses just 12 spacious rooms. The rooms are very large, each with a jacuzzi and separate bath room. The villa is situated on a large private property, where you have the availability of an outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, 3 restaurants (of which one is located in the big garden), fitness room and kids corner. The whole family is extremely helpful and English is (almost) fluently spoken by a majority of staff members. The place is perfect, both for solo travelers, couples and families with younger (or more grown up) children.
The staff can organize interesting day trips or may assist in car rental (which worked out very well when we did a day trip to nearby Albania).
The villa has been in operation for less than two years, so everything looks like brand new and the whole property is perfectly maintained.
A minor inconvenience may be the location: about 2 km outside of Ohrid. On the other hand, it is a really peaceful location and I assume that a hotel in downtown Ohrid can be quite noisily.
Breakfast is included and, if desired, the staff can cook you a very nice dinner. We took the trout twice and I must say that it has been a long time ago that we had such a tasteful dinner!
So if you plan to visit (the region of) Ohrid, don't hesitate and just take a room at Aleksander Villa!

This was my first trip to Macedonia and Ohrid. I found Aleksandar Villa on the internet and decided to give it a try. I stayed there 4 nights. It is a small boutique hotel with about 12 apartment like rooms. All quite large and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I only had breakfast and lunch at the hotel, so can't comment on dinners there.

Since it is relatively new, there were not many people at the hotel which made it personal and relaxing.

I would highly recommend it
