My wife and I arrived after a gruelling journey (3h bus, 1h flight, 3h taxi) from Malinska/CRO via Zagreb and Skopje. Our first impression was ‘Wow!’. That positive impression stayed with us over five nights, reinforced by the quality of the accommodation, the beauty of the pool/garden and the friendliness of the staff and the proprietors.
Lots of discussion here about the distance from town, we found it was a pleasant 45-minute stroll to the harbour along the lakeside road (not the main road!) and the promenade. And we found a friendly and reliable taximan whom we would call to book trips back and forth at the standard fare of €2.50.
Negatives? The room, whilst enormous, was short of storage space and it’s a shame when it is so immaculate if you can’t stow everything away neatly out of sight. And we had variable luck with the restaurant – one excellent meal, one disappointment and one disaster.
We fully intend to revisit Ohrid and the Aleksandar Villa.
