My wife and i stayed here for four nights in August 2011. We paid 110 Euros a night including breakfast.
This is a special place and we loved everything about it. The location is great and we enjoyed our daily walk into town (about 1 km). The grounds/ pool area is very nice and stylish. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and well appointed with comfortable beds and a jacuzzi bath which is a nice touch. Breakfast was very good. we did not eat in the restaurant in the evening so cannot comment.
Lake Ohrisd itself is very specioal. we will be back.

Greatly overpriced, inattentive staff in dull location. Fortunately, we were able to get another hotel in town after a couple of days in this boring resort (in the middle of nowhere).

We booked the whole of Aleksandar Villa for family and friends as my wife and I recently got married in Ohrid. We had the most wonderful stay. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, but more than anything the relaxed, peaceful, friendly vibe of the of Villa means you have your own little haven in Ohrid. Vesna and the rest of her family made us feel right at home. Nothing was too big a problem, there was always a friendly smile - everything was informal and relaxed (no mean feat given that we were there with in-laws and all in the days building up to our wedding!) I couldn't recommend the Aleksandar Villa any higher, I think it's a special place and I hope we get back there many times in the future. Brendan.

My wife and I are U.S. citizens presently living and working in Kosovo. We recently spent a week traveling by car around nearby Macedonia, and spent three nights at the Aleksandar Villa in Ohrid. This is a beatiful, small, family-run hotel right on the main road leading out of town, a couple of kilometers from the center. We had a car, so diriving five minutes into town was not an issue. Otherwise, a taxi would be necessary although I believe there is a bus stop right outside the hotel gates The hotel is immaculately maintained with beautiful grounds and flowers, and a sparkling, refreshing pool. Our room was open, spacious, colorful and spotless, with a view from the balcony over the pool. Our room had free wi-fi, a flat screen TV and a jacuzzi. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and family members were usually around to socialize with the guests and make sure everythingwas running smoothly They are English speaking, having lived in New Jersey. The buffet breakfasts were excellent, with good coffee, and guests could order egg dishes. The weather was nice, and we were able to eat ourtside on the patio. They also serve lunch and dinner, which must be ordered in advance. Overall, a great experience, and we would stay there again.
