I read the reviews in the guide books, and I read the reviews on this site, and telephoned the hotel from Florida. I was fortunate to be able to speak to the owner, and he urged us to take advantage of the fact that one of the suites was available for the three nights that we wanted to stay. No regrets! Apartment number 8 is HUGE, with a terrace that permits a partial view of Lake Suchitoto. We had a look at the other suite, and at most of the other rooms, and they are all nice, but ours was definitely worth the extra money (and remember, a delicious breakfast is included in the price of the room or suite). We recommend the evening boat ride to see Bird Island; the Money Museum; the Center of Art for Peace; the workshop of sculptor Miguel Martino; and especially the walking tour of Suchitoto, offered by June, who works in the hotel reception area most days.
Room Tip: Try to stay in one of the two suites.
