“Great value for money”

This was our first trip to Sharm so wasnt really expecting that much. Was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was a good choice for us as we wanted to be in a quieter area and not in 'blackpool aka naarma bay'. The hotel is very well kept up and our room didnt have the best view but for the money we paid we werent complaining and also it was MASSIVe and kept very clean by the attendant. Our only complaint with the room is that we only had lukewarm water the whole time even though we did complain twice about this and they came out and looked at it, the temp of the water didnt really change? Maybe in the summer months thats fine but in Feb I wanted a hot shower esp as the evenings were quite chilly!!

All the main areas are impeccably kept and the food was good and you had loads of choice. I'm quite a fussy eater but i found something all the time. Probably wouldnt relish a 2nd week here though as I suspect the food would just be repeated for a second week. Restaurants very busy but didnt have to wait very long for a table, but I wonder if thats the same in the summer months. The breakfast i found esp good with the egg and pancake to order bar.The bar areas i dont think have enough seating either and we found it difficult to get a seat a few times. I agree that the only bar with atmosphere is the Irish one and they could do with making the lounge bar a bit more bigger and more atmospheric! The new coffee bar that has opened up is excellent and a good plus for the hotel.

The entertainment was mediocre and again wouldnt want to be here for a 2nd week as it would only be repeated. The team need to come up with a few more original ideas instead of just relying on music quiz and karaoke!

The staff were all very polite and helpful although i find the way that 'checkin' is handled to be a bit bizarre and long winded. It was quiet when we arrived but we still had to sit down and wait about 20 mins to be given our key......???

There seemed to be enough beds etc by the pools and on the beach so we never had a problem unlike other resorts we have stayed in and overrall we found this hotel to be excellent value for money and would definately recommend it to others and will stay again.

PS> The Irish bar does have a strange 'vomity' smell especially by the main door, its obviously isnt that but the Managment really should do something about that as it is very off putting!! And i cannot still get over the greediness of some people that still pile their plates high with all an sundry....dont they realise its all inclusive and they can go back for more! And it wasnt just the Russians doing that I saw a lot of Brits just being greedy and wasting food!

“Simply Superb..........again!”

This was our seventh stay in this hotel. Possibly that says it all. My husband and I are fortunate enough to travel several times each year and with few exceptions, we have not returned to any holiday hotel as there are so many out there that we usually like to try out a new one each time. The Royal Albatros Moderna is very much the exception to our rule. Over the past four years we have been there for each and every Christmas & New Year, staying each time for four weeks. This past Christmas stay we also celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday in the hotel complex. We have also stayed there on three non-Christmas occasions during varying parts of the holiday season and again for several weeks at each time. We have never been disappointed.

Christmas and New Year is celebrated within the biggest party marquee we are ever likely to see. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere superb. Entertainment is varied and the staff welcoming. I am a South African by birth now living in England and I know that to enjoy similar weather in December I would have to return to the southern hemisphere. Egypt however, and Sharm el Sheikh in particular, has warm and sunny days throughout December and we always return home well tanned and glowing. Christmas is very Christmassy but with lots of sun.

Rooms are marvelous and so is the staff. There are a half a dozen restaurants to choose from and the variety and quality of food cannot ever be complained about.

Remember, this is a Hotel & Resort and not only a hotel. The resort is large with several pools to choose from. It has its own beach and amenities for diving and swimming. It has a lengthy walkers’ pier from which the famous Sharm sea-life is visible.

A wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available all day as well as snacks and ice-cream from the ice cream bar and pool bars outside of the hotel and of course there are lots of other bars scattered throughout the hotel. Egyptian local alcohol should not be confused with European booze but is perfectly drinkable and as the bars are never empty and there are always waiters delivering drinks it is quite obviously enjoyed by most visitors.

Shops, bank, pharmacy and doctor are all on site. Town is no distance away and is walkable or taxis are just outside the gate. There is a bus service from the hotel. Trips and adventures are as ever from the tour guides or the hotel.

Security is fine – we have been going to Egypt for years and especially Sharm and Taba. We know that these past years especially these past few years Egypt and the middle-east has experienced more than its fair share of troubles. However, we have always felt safe in Sharm and at the Albatros.

My husband is a senior Academic and whilst away needs to maintain contact with his work and colleagues around the world and I stay in touch with family. There is good internet access at this hotel and phone reception.

As a mother and grandmother I recommend this hotel to parents with children as safe and entertaining and were our children still young enough, this would have been our hotel of choice.

Over the years we have made very good friends with a large number of returning guests. These would include not just couples and pensioners, but also many families with children of all ages. They, like us, all go back to the Albatros year after year. This I think is a sign of the quality of this resort.

We will be back again in this forthcoming Spring and certainly at Christmastime.

Food. They have changed thier system in the restaurants. Where before it was always in trays they now have at least 20 chefs behind glass cooking meat, fish crabs chicken & pizzas for you while you go and get whatever else you need on your plate. there is never any bad queueing so your food does not get cold. Staff in the restaurant are excellent and take your plates away when you've finished & clean the table.Lunch time down the beach they cook fresh fish pieces and chicken pieces, always fresh never in trays besides the normal pizzas and salad. Rooms are spotless as your housekeepers work from 6.00 am till 6.00pm this is why thios hotel is so good. We are returning on 1st March this year - hope to see you there.

Room Tip: We've had a family room which was 1458 and other times 1442 really nice for the sun in the after...

“Returned a great time again”

Just return from a fortnight at this hotel and this was our second time here.It was brilliant, the food and the choice was great. They have turned the library into a new modern coffee room and this is a great improvement.
Down side is they have partitioned the restaurants and in doing this the available food selection is reduced greatly and this was a comment shared by most guests
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality at a good price
