“Amazing time”

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the royal grand azure in December for a week just to get away for a little while. We were shocked by how big the complex was at first but soon got to know where everything was. Our room was a great size with a lovely bathroom and a private balcony with a great view of the private sea! It got cleaned every day and two water bottles were left in the fridge every day.
The staff are lovely and very helpful doing anything they can for you. Every night we went to the old reception for drinks, Samir Mohamed was a waiter there and was absolutely fantastic. As soon as we walked in he'd find seats for us. As soon as we finished a drink he'd be over asking what we wanted next. He definitely made our stay that even bit better! The animation team were also great. Around the pool and the old reception every day and evening getting the kids and the adults involved. They were great entertainment!
We met a few other couples whilst being out there and also a few families which was really nice, everyone was very friendly.
Cannot complain about the food at all, there was a different selection every day at the main buffet restaurant. We went to a couple of the restaurants, the chinese and indian was gorgeous and we recommend them highly.
We would definitely come back to the royal grand azure.

“Xmas at the Royal Grand Azure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel from 15th – 26th Dec 2011, apologies for the late review!!!
Following a 5 hour flight with Thomsons, handy tip, book the extra leg room seats in my opinion they are so worth the extra money!!!! However as other people have said take your own sandwiches or a boots meal deal because the food on the flight leaves a lot to be desired!!!!
We arrived early evening and check in was quick and efficient, we were then taken to our room on a golf buggy. We had a deluxe comfort room and special thanks here to Kelly who I had e-mailed before explaining about my husbands problem with his back, the room was lovely and spacious and had a walk in shower and bath and overlooked the heated pool (room no 3050).
The resort was very clean and all the staff friendly and were happy to have a chat.
We spent our days by the heated pool and thanks to Mohammed the pool towel guy who kept our spot every day with fresh towels. Sami in the pool bar was excellent and always made me a lovely cappuccino!!!
The weather was great for Dec, mid to high 20’s every day and luckily the wind died down after our first day there, although the nights to get a bit chillier this time of year and we both came home with cracking tans, sadly fading fast now though!!!!
We ate in the Zodiac for breakfast and usually the beach bar for lunch. We also tried the a la cartes, loved the Italian and Chinese, not very impressed with the Indian, but that’s down to personal taste I think. We had no problem booking the a la cartes, although I do think the hotel was only at 40% capacity while we were there, so that could be why.
The entertainment team worked very hard although they never did succeed in getting us to try water polo and streches!!!! They tried hard with the evening entertainment although sometimes it reminded me of Butlins!!!!!
The Christmas Eve Gala dinner was excellent, they had decorated the dining room and there was everything you could wish to eat there, no need to pay for the Gala dinners that they were trying to promote.
The adults only restaurant re-opened on our last day there and I have to say that we personally preferred this restaurant as there were times when the Zodiac reminded me of a school canteen, but then again you are on holiday so you just have to go with the flow!! Although certain nationalities do have a problem with queuing and seem to pile everything on their plates only to leave most of it!! It’s a buffet, you can go back as many times as you want!!!!!
We only did one trip which was the Submarine trip and we booked this through the guy in the old reception, cheaper than the Thomsons rep, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lindsay the Thomsons rep was very helpful and always had time for a chat and also Bella and Kelly in Guest relations were excellent, happy to help out wherever they could. We had a problem with one of the waiters but upon speaking to Kelly she went direct to the bar manager who was very apologetic and it was resolved very quickly.
All in all we had a great time, I don’t think the hotel is quite 5 star yet but if they carry on the way they are they soon will be.
I hope this review has at least been of some help to you because I know I read all reviews avidly before we went and am so glad that we chose this hotel!

royal grand azure is one of the best hotels we have stayed in the food was great and the bread and cakes are the best.we were upgraded and the room was spacious with a bathroom with walk in shower.the staff are very pleasant and all went out of the way to speak to you especialy the young lad that cleaned the room.must admit the evening enterainment is not great perhaps if they had outside acts a few nights.would definetly go back but a mounth or so later as the weather turned towards the end of week but thats not hotels fault.go to soho thats great.

“excellent holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

i booked this hotel 2 weeks prior to travelling, and i was very pleased to arrive at this stunning hotel beautiful surrounding stunning gardens,,its the best hotel i have stayed in,i have a couple of negatives but i will leave them till last, firstly i must say the hotel super dooper the rooms were fantastic,so modern and stylish, the beds i thought very comfy ,the staff were excellent, everyone was so helpful and had lovely characters and made me laugh, the chefs were so helpful, anything i asked for i got,the waiters were so efficient, the restaurant manager SAAD was so good to us,my husband is disabled, and every time we walked into this restaurant he found us a table and walked my husband in his wheelchair to the table, everyday 3 times a day, wonderful man.The food was loverly, varied choices everyday, the suites were out of this worls,so many gateauxs all decorated with choclate, yummy. The italien restaurant was amazing, fillet steak was so good.Chinese was nice too, didnt try others. The customer relation girls were fantastic especially bella and kelly, they were so helpful, sorted any minor problems imediately, bell boys were amazing, took us everywhere in hotel in cab cars, they were so good to us as my husbands disabilty.
now the negatives The royal pool which is heated and attracts everyone, played loud music from 10 til 5,its just awful,we had to be up this end of the hotel for my husband to be near restaurant.
The second thing is the lift was only working twice in 2 weeks which made it very difficult for us to get to that stunning reception every day.

The third thing Entertainment really lets this hotel downs, its ghastly and so so loud.
And finally 4 days into our holiday about 300 people from cairo ascended on us,it was like some sort of convention, almost taking over hotel,it spoilt our holiday, noisy kids,no control, pulled out plants from beautiful gardens, moved all the ornaments from lawns ,up to late in the night, had to call security twice,
But however ,we still had a nice time, thankyou to all your wonderful staff at The royal grand azure

BU

Room Tip: away from royal pool ,very loud music all day

“Fabulous!”

This was our second visit to the Royal Grand Azure and after last year's amazing holiday we had very high expectations. I'm pleased to say we were not disappointed! We stayed in the junior suite which our cleaner kept immaculate for the whole of our stay. The food in all of restaurants is extremely high quality, especially the a la carte's. Special thanks to Mohammed in the Egyptian restaurant and Mohammed in the Indian restaurant. The staff are fantastic, even with the language barrier there's nothing too much trouble. The beach restaurant is a welcome addition offering very good food served to your table. We landed back in the UK last night and are already planning next years visit!
