The hotel improved after a recent overhaul. It's certainly a challenge to open/run a hotel in the region. Therefore, hats off to the management. The location on the Lake Kivu shores is excellent, as the plastic belt is a bit further up on the lake. Wouldn't recommend swimming there, though. Be very careful once you leave the hotel gates. Security situation within Goma town is nothing for the Africa new-comer-tourist. As passenger or driver, keep car doors tightly locked at all times.
The pool is nice and clean, tennis court always available, they have a good coach who is ready for a match in case you are travelling alone. Restaurant and pool bar have something common in DRC- a notorious absence of change. So don't leave big notes. If you don't like the sight of a waiter, that's the place to be. Probably badly organized. The waiters have to run to the reception for every penny as the bar cash box is always left empty. I must add that once you get hold of a waiter, they are friendly and well-mannered. I know their salary, so please leave a tip.
