First, I will mention the positives...the room was clean, well-decorated with a nice bathroom and the host family was very kind, providing us with a welcome drink and an airport shuttle for our early morning departure (15 Euros for 2 ppl).
The location is not as close to the historic center as you may believe. It is best suited for those with a car, as taxis are difficult to find and it is very far and dangerous to walk to. Even with a car it can be very tricky finding the villa and our taxi driver couldn't even find the right house. Upon finally arriving we were told to wait as the other guests had not arrived yet. Perhaps there was a miscommunication but we had the sense that we would have to wait to see our room until these other guests arrived. After 10-15 minutes we just asked to be shown our room and the request was obliged. After a day of traveling all you want to do is go to your room and relax, and this delay was somewhat bothersome.
Taxis are quite expensive (80 Kunas at least for a 5 minute drive to the town center), so we rented a scooter and this was actually cheaper than two taxis.
Upon retrospect I would endeavour to find accommodation closer to the town center.
