We had been in email correspondence with Natasa Bacan prior ro our departure so we were all set to be met at the airport. On the day of arrival we were promptly met by Antun Bacan who helped us with our baggage and swiftly whisked us off to the apartment which was only a five-ten minute drive away.
Antun showed us into our apartment and we quickly settled in. The apartment (3) had a well-equpped kitchen complete with microwave, 2 ring electric hob kettle, toaster and good selection of pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, cuttlery and kitchen utensils. It was also nice to see we had been provided with washing-up liquid and a new sponge as these are often items you have to bring with you or go and buy in self-catering apartments. Small amounts of tea and coffee were also provided on arrival which were re-stocked during our visit although I had brought my own tea-bags (true Brit abroad!)
Our 2 year old daughter was provided with a pull-out sofa bed to sleep on in the kitchen/dining area which was adequate although I had to ensure she was kept fully safe every night by putting dining chairs all around the bed to make sure she couldn't climb out and get to anything dangerous in the kitchen area or fall out of bed onto the hard tiled floor! We had no mishaps all week though so I don't consider this to be a problem!
The bathroom which had a shower cubicle, toilet and sink was clean and we were given fresh towels frequently thorughout our stay. A reasonable hair dryer was available in the vanity cupbaord and basic toiletries were provided and replenished during our stay also.
The bedroom was clean but the double bed was a bit strange with 2 seperate mattresses within 1 base so that you eneded up with a hard wooden division between you - not designed for snugglers although with the heat during our stay this was probably just as well!
We used the air con only ocassionally and found it adequate and not noisy.
The location of the apartments may cause some visitors a problem as it is at the top of the hill meaning quite a steep walk back after a meal in the evening but this wasn't an issue for us or our two year old so unless you have severe disabilities then I wouuldn't consider this a real issue. On the plus side, the apartments are conveniently close to the Pemo Supermarket which is much nicer than the one in town and also there is a bus stop across the road which means you can get the Number 10 bus to Dubrovnik without having to walk to the main bus station in town too.
The best thing about these apartments were the owners Natasa and Antun who provided excellent customer service. They made it very clear that they wanted us to have a great holiday and gave us a mobile phone number to ring day or night if we needed anything outside of their main hours. We only had to ask and they would try and help immediately for example when the plug in mosquito repellent ran out we popped into reception to ask if we could have another and Natasa gave us the one from reception there and then and then the next day we came back from our day out to find a brand new one on our dning table too! We were given little chocolates and sweets as welcome gifts and as it was my birthday I was also given a box of chocolates and a note wishing me a happy birthday which was a lovely touch. Antun also kindly booked a table for us at the Hotel Major (see review).
On our final day of our holiday the weather turned bad and it rained non-stop all day but Antun kindly drove us into town to allow ut to have our final meal rather than popping to the local pizzeria (across the road which was fine but very basic).
In summary, the apartments are clean, well-equipped and are run by two of the nicest people we met in Croatia. Thanks Antun and Natasa.
