It's everything we thought it'd be except for - service - just minor issues here and there, but kinda brings you back to reality - that service mindset are still not so developed in some culture and will take a lot of effort to bring it to international standard.
For e.g. we have postponed our travel date by 1 day, and the key was not programmed to reflect this change. We were locked out on the last day of the stay. Not fun after a full day up in the mountains at freezing temperature.
We were told that we will receive discount on dining within property if we are a hotel chain card member, then, were told it has to be a card that's applied during the stay, then, there was no discount on the pre-booked breakfast anyway. Seems everyone has their own intepretation of how it should work.
Trip was postponed 1 day due to acute illness, but the hotel refuse to allow for the postponing of trip (i.e. wants to charge for 1 day extra) - even though it's obvious they are not fully booked. Staff checked with booking centre and came back with this news, in the end, have to ask her to resolve with hotel manager.
location is a bit far from the Lijiang oldtown, but walking distance to Xuhe oldtown, a smaller old town, but less commerical and quieter.
We like the hotel for the peaceful feel and the stunning view of the mountain - smack right into your face right after you come out of the looby into the compound.
