I stumbled into this hotel after my original hotel could not find my reservation. It is a quaint hotel undergoing renovations that are going very well. I was given a newly renovated room - beautiful. Not what you typically expect. The rooms were mini apts. in its size and amenities. I reccommend staying at the Hawthorn if you are in Austin. It was a reasonable price and the staff was very professional and friendly.

Stayed one night. thsi property seems to be going downhill, last stay the TV channels went from 99 to 29, was told that it was a temporary change and would be back to having traveler basic needs - Headline for the morning airline report - two months later no change. sign in the lobby that was there before says they are renovating, but carpet in room dirty and tired, blanket on bed torn and ripped, overheard neighbour asking for a telephone that worked. clean for the most part, reasonable price for close to the airport and large suites with fridge and microwave. doesnt live up to its potential.

A friend and I flew into Austin the night before our conference began, and we were looking for a place to stay near the airport. We chose this hotel based on the price and the fact that it offered a free airport shuttle. We were very pleased with our stay!
When we arrived at the airport, we called the hotel to see about the shuttle (note: you do have to call to have the shuttle come - it doesn't just run regularly), and they sent a van over. It was there within 10 minutes. The driver and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Also, shortly after we arrived in our room, the front desk called and asked if everything was ok with our room and if they could do anything for us! How nice. And actually, after using our toilet once, it wouldn't stop running, so we mentioned that, they sent someone up immediately, and the problem was fixed in no time!
Our room was very nice and quite big. It was a 1 bedroom suite with two queen-size beds. The living room and bathroom were a good size. The room contained a refrigerator and microwave - very handy if you are staying for several nights! The beds were pretty comfortable - not the best, but certainly sufficient. Best of all - FREE wireless internet in the rooms!
The hotel offers a free reception from 5:30-7:30 in the lobby (this might only be on weeknights, I'm not sure), but they had free appetizers (jalapeno poppers and 'lil smokeys in barbeque sauce) and free drinks (beer, wine, and soft drinks). In the mornings, they had a free breakfast buffet, including eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, muffins, etc. The food was great and best of all, free! Considering how inexpensive the room was, I would have never expected these kinds of offerings.
This hotel offers so much for such a cheap price. I would definitely recommend it!

This place was reasonably priced, allowed pets, offered breakfast, and was close to the hotel where the wedding I attended was held which was why I chose it. In general, everything was ok.

The staff were nice and helpful. The suites are nicely equipped with 2 rooms and a kitchenette. I was disappointed to find that the kitchenette had no plates, cups, or utensils not even a bottle opener. I suppose this is due to the clientele this place attracts.

My neighbors across the hall threw a loud all night party. Judging from the beer cans outside and the clouds of marijuana smoke that emanated from the room, I suspect that room will need a major cleaning and fumigation. The cigarette and pot smoke seeped into my non-smoking room, of course, which makes me wonder why hotels locate smoking and non-smoking rooms this way.

I found 2 crickets in my bed - one dead; one alive- when I removed the disgusting, dated bedspread. The blanket beneath it was full of holes. It's really unbelievable. I saw housekeeping removing sheets AND blankets from the beds for washing yet they put them back on the beds with multiple giant holes in them. I've attached pictures. It seems like this hotel could make some relatively inexpensive cosmetic changes to give guests some perception of cleanliness and upkeep - replace damaged blankets, clean spots off carpet, don't put smoking rooms right across the hall from non-smoking rooms, hire an exterminator, etc.

They have nice Caswell & Massey toiletries in the bathroom (very clean) which look cheap in the custom Hawthorn Suites wrapping and bottles.

This hotel served its purpose, but I wouldn't stay here again.
