My husband and I recently visited Ashland and stayed at this B&B. We expected a decent sized private cottage that was dog friendly, had a private path to a garden, and would be nicely decorated and stocked. The cottage was tiny, glassed in porch was even smaller, quite a few of the plants on porch were partially dead or comprised mostly of dead leaves, and our "private path" to the garden was literally about 50 feet of a tight squeeze between bushes to get to the "garden", also a small space of some plants and outdoor furniture that had been taken apart for the winter. The bathroom was smaller than we expected, and the jacuzzi tub was the smallest tub I have seen at a B&B, and the jets only worked sporadically and totally at their own will. The towels were probably older than me, very worn, and didn't smell like they were recently laundered.
The worst part of the "cottage"...the heater! It would come on intermittently throughout the evening and night, and each time made a rattling metal noise so loud that we would wake up, thinking someone was breaking into our room. Needless to say, neither of us had a good nights sleep.
The person we spoke to on the phone to confirm our reservation had said someone would be there between 10-1 to meet us and let us into our cottage, however no one was home. We called the number by the front door, which took us to an answering service, who was unable to contact whoever was on call. We did get a call very soon after this from someone who came to meet us and let us in.
Overall, my husband and I were both very unimpressed. The off season prices are what I would consider reasonable for a nicely stocked, well maintained, clean, and comfortable B&B, all of which we did not find here. We would not stay again.
