“cozy comfy room with fireplace for new year's eve”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

We stayed in the king studio for new year's eve. The bed was comfy and the room spacious and nicely decorated. Plenty of pillows! Nice kitchen and our own patio.

We didn't notice the road noise unless we were outside. Walk to the beach was convenient. Only two improvements we would recommend: The room needs some cosmetic repair...water stains on the ceiling...spackle missing from wall above bed...kitchen lineoleum buckling up by fridge. They are
minor details but we noticed and they made the room feel a bit neglected. :( Our other note is that the room could be fully accessible if the tub was updated...that clawfoot is tight by the sink and hard to climb in and out of (and enamel
is really in bad shape.) On the plus side, the towels were super soft and the terry robes were very nice. :)

We had a very pleasant and romantic new year's overall. New year's party favors made for a very warm welcome! We're glad we stayed!

“Clean, updated, cozy accomodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

We stayed in Unit 4 Queen studio and they were the perfect size for our 3 night stay. It was cozy and smelled great and we made a fire everyday. We didn't really hear the traffic on the road, especially when we had a fire going. We used the kitchen for breakfast and dinner and grilled on the shared patio each night (no other guests were ever out there). There was no staff present as far as I could tell, though we did have a few needs which we called and they were taken care of right away (things like a bottle opener and such).
The beach was a 2 minute walk away and there was an area at the entrance of the beach where we made a fire.
The only thing that we were misled by was that the little grocer/cafe was closed for good next door. No problem to us...there's a great bakery in town.

“The room was just like the photo, too bad no one mentioned Rt 101 and the never ending traffic noise”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2010

I woud not recommend this lodging to anyone, when there are so many other beautiful spots in the area. We did not spend alot of time in the room, but when we were there there was no way to neutralize the sounds from the traffic. There is no one onsite to greet you and cell phones do not work there, so calling for the door code meant we had to drive 5 miles for cell reception. After an 8 hour drive, that got us off to a bad start. It would have been nice if we were told in the e-mail confirmation that there was a phone downstairs. Two other issues for us were the beds ( OK, if you like boards) and lack of service to replenish the coffee and tea. One person has already mentioned that housekeeping is not daily, but that did not cause concern ( would have been nice to KNOW so we could have stocked up on coffee).
The sounds of trucks and cars, day and nite (for rooms 2, 3 and 4) took away from the entire experience.
As there are NO services in Arch Cape , it would havebeen nice for the owners to leave a one page sheet with recommendations on places to eat, groceries, etc.
I never write reviews as we generally enjoy wherever we stay, but this was too disappointing and I wanted to let others know you will be living on Rte 101.

“Cute Inn looking forward to going back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2010

We stayed two nights here for a girls weekend. I was concerned after reading the reviews but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We stayed in Room 1 and I thought it was very clean and loved the decor. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and the short walk down the driveway to the beach. If you concentrate you can hear the cars on the road but we didnt notice an excessive amount of noise as others have commented. I heard the waves crashing on the beach on the morning louder than the traffic. The shower was stone tile and rock and it was a normal size shower. My only complaint with this property is the parking. We arrived at night and I have a large SUV. There was nowhere for me to park since the large SUV in the spot next to mine had parked over the line. The spaces are made for smaller cars or more considerate people. I would prefer the car space for our room be on the side of the building instead of in front. The inn is in a great location for seeing all the area attractions. I am looking forward to going back with my husband for a weekend.

“NOISY!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2010

Like many other customers, I was attracted by the photos on the website. Although the rooms do look roomier in the photos than in reality, this was not a serious issue. That is the case with most photos on the web or in brochures. The decor was classic beach and the fireplace was very nice. However, our wood was not replenished until we had been there two days. We did find the storage area and got our own wood. Other supplies (Tea, sugar, doggie waste bags) were never replenished. We stayed 3 nights and had only the original 8 teabags and 3 sweeteners for two people. There was coffee but we do not drink coffee and the housekeeping staff should have noticed that the teabags were being used and the coffee was not. We were not there when the housekeeping staff was in the room and we probably could have called and complained, but we shouldn't have to. But by far the worst thing was the noise. We were on the east side of the building and the traffic noise was incessant. When the really heavy traffic (log trucks and semis) went by, it actually shook the room. This went on all day and all night. My husband teased that he could tell the difference between the empty and the full log trucks by the time we left!! We will not recommend this place to anyone and will certainly not go back. We go to the Oregon Coast often, but we go for relaxation and this inn did not provide a relaxing experience. I can imagine many people booking this place for more than one night and leaving after the first one.
