This was my second visit to A Place At the Beach. I spent a week in Sept. of 2009 and was happy to return in Sept. 2010. I traveled with 2 other women and we were mainly interested in relaxing at the beach and pool. I rented a larger 2 bedroom (unit 367 through Atlantic Beach Realty) that was located on the third floor next to the elevator. I'm so pleased that elevators were installed this year. There were some minor problems with door locks and hot water, but both were quickly taken care of. I was impressed with the staff from both the realtor and APAB repair personnel. This unit was well decorated with a beach theme, working ice maker in refridgerator, and sturdy high-seated dining and balcony chairs that allowed a grand view of the ocean. The pool was relatively quiet and chairs, sun, shade and floating tubes were always available. The water slide is just enough of a thrill for a 50 something like me. The distance to the beach is a short walk and the 3 locations of outside showers made rinsing off quick. Even in Sept. the ocean water was warm. The beach was fairly empty - we were always able to get an unrestricted ocean view and peaceful spot. I would recommend this complex for people with similar interests as mine. Two nice short day trips are New Bern and Beaufort.

After seeing earlier reviews, I was somewhat skeptical about staying here but it seemed the ratings improved as time went on. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Grounds and pool were well maintained and clean. Condo was dated but clean and well kept. Beach was outstanding and town had everything we needed close by: grocery, restaurants, etc. Will definitely stay there again.

A Place at the Beach III (Unit 237L) offered my family and friends a wonderful beachfront vacation as well as all the amenities and activies that suited all of our needs to make our week's vacation the best! From start to finish, we loved the beach, pool, waterslide, pig roast, movies on the beach, tennis courts, and the list goes on and on.....so very affordable! We highly recommend this vacation spot and will revisit each Summer with family and friends!

We stayed in a 1 1/2 bedroom - It was decorated very cute and it was clean (205L). Since they are privately owned it is the luck of the draw on the condition of each unit. This year they added elevators which are located at the beach end of each building. It would be great if they put them on the far end also as the steps are difficult in the heat with luggage, etc. All in all APOTB was nice. The kids LOVE the pool with the slide and the beach was great. We were disappointed in Amos Mosquito's - Chix alfredo was very watery. Certainly not worth the hour and a half wait for a table in the bar. The next night went to the Channle Marker. No wait, great view, terrific service and good food. Nearby Beauford was a nice town on the water with lots of little shops.
