“My 1st holiday abroad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Just returned from my first holiday abroad with family and partner, I enjoyed it rather well. The hotel is in a nice location and just a pavement separates the beach from the hotel which I liked how close we were to the beach / sea. My overall review is very good because there are ups and downs to the hotel which I do believe you would have anywhere! The hotel was clean but could have been better on the maintenance side as lots of bulbs out / gym equipment broken and just left. I am not trying to put you off by the way it may have been because it was the end of the season as we were one of the last ones before the hotel closing. We had two weeks at the Mandalinci and it could have been too long to be honest maybe 10 days could have been more enjoyable. Nothing much to do in the hotel in the evening as there was no entertainment which would have made the holiday better. A couple of things that did cause us to be unhappy was the mosque which I quite loud in the early hours of the morning waking us up and fluent throughout the day, the other problem was bar street which played loud music only a few of the nights but I suspect it would be lot worse in peak season. Good food was served a good variety was at most meal times although over two weeks gets a little repetitive and we went outside for food a couple of times. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Also very good value for money. Mandalinci is well worth a visit and like I said overall it was very good and the four start rating stands correct.

Room Tip: We requested sea view rooms whcih had a fantastic view but had not been refurbished unlike the other...

“In need of some tlc”

We stayed from 13 to 20 October. On our first night we couldn't shower as there wasn't any cold water - yes that is cold! During the night the phone rang on the hour three times. On the third time we rang down to reception who advised us to unplug the phone as there was a problem. On our last night the same thing happened again on the phone in the bathroom, which we ended up leaving off the hook. Our other complaint would be that the lights in the corridors are on timers which are activated as you come up to the light. They must believe that they have a hotel full of gold medal athletes as it is impossible to get from one light to the next without the light going out. It's really quite dangerous!

The staff were all friendly and went out of their way to help with anything and everything. The food was plentiful with a good choice at all meals. There are two Nescafe machines in the restaurant which were always available. For us it's a real plus to be able to get decent coffee.

The location is good being on the beach and in the centre of Turgetreis. Having read other reviews on here we asked for a room with a pool view (which also included a sea view). We were given a family room (for two of us) so we had plenty of space. In the main the rooms and corridors are in need of refurbishing, which we were lead to believe will take place this winter.

Would we go back? Probably not as there are nicer hotels just up the road but it certainly deserves better than some of the reviews on here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from Bar Street.

“fantasic place,gr8 value for money”

Stayed from 26th sept for 10 days. Arrived at silly o`clock to be greeted by a young man who made us feel very welcome, we were escorted to our room and given a brief whos who and whats what. Was absolutely perfect for us. Great position right next to the beach and shops.Plenty of beds around the pool area, which was spotlessly clean. Food was good, staff very polite and helpful. Room was spacious and clean, décor left a little to be desired but eh its only paint. We did two boat trips would recommend the "Cod Father" boat trip to the south.
All of the staff at the Mandalinci were helpful, polite and usually smiling, even at the end of the day after a long shift.
During our stay we heard other guests moan about the Mosque, what do you expect in a Muslim country, go to Blackpool next time. Also one party in particular moaned about the dogs on the beach, what do they do - take food from the hotel and feed them, idiots. Even though there were the stray dogs there was no mess and the dogs did not trouble you, they just "had a dogs life". Would recommend Turgatries and the Mandalinci to anyone, of course there is always room for improvement and better, but you'd need to go a long way to get better value for money.

Room Tip: room 2217, family room, views of the beach

“Ok holiday not the best!!!!!”

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in september when we arrived at 3am we got took to our room which was disgusting they had put us in one of there old rooms that hadn't been done out yet also it was next to the bars so you couldnt get to sleep at night!! so we complained straight away but they couldn't do out till the moring, so the next day we got moved to one of there new rooms which was much better a couldn't believe the difference to the one they had first put us in was like a different hotel so we were much happier!! There is a wide range of food but a wasn't keen on any of it we ended up eating out most nights so a would never go all inclusive again. The pool is nice but you have to make sure you get a sun lounger in the morning otherwise there usally all taken the beach is on your door step so u don't have to walk far. There are loads of street dogs aswell which wasn't very nice to see they were really skinny and looked really dirty so a wouldn't touch them! The shop men don't leave you alone it's so annoying they always come up to you asking you to go in there shop you have to tell them no about 5 times before they listen to you! We were getting sick of them pestering us! If your going to buy stuff make sure you ask for a better deal because they always go down in price, there's a really nice handbag and purse shop just outside of the hotel got loads to choose from and really good quality a got some lovely ones and for good prices so make sure you check it out also if you are gunna go for a drink go to the Irish bar it is always the busyiest and the staff there are really nice we met some lovely people there. One last thing you get kicked out your room at 12 so if you have a late flight like we did you have a very long day just waiting about the hotel till you get picked up we had to pay an extra £25 to keep our room till 5!! Don't think we will be back!
