“The worst hotel- Nightmare!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2010
5
people found this review helpful

Bad points- on arrival at 4am asked to pay £65 for air conditioning (no where in the brochure does it state this)
Cockroaches on our bedding
Sewage coming out the tap
Ripped and filthy black floor (one delicate wipe with some tissue proved this)
Front and balcony door did not shut or lock properly (due to this we felt unsafe during the night)
Mould and black gunge in the shower
Revolting stench in room
Maids never cleaned
Worst staff bullied us into buying their drinks and food and often challenging us in their numbers as to why we chose not to eat in their resturant. Reason why is we saw them wipe the used plates with a dirty cloth back onto the table for the next guests. we also ate their once and waited two hours for a greek salad which arrived with only dry shredded cabbage and carrot!!!
Staff verbally abused us
Same music played on repeat by the pool all day!
All this ruined our holiday and being widely travelled have never experienced anything this bad before.
Good points- Hotel cat

“Quality holiday! Hotel can be improved though...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

Right let's get this started! Completely forgot to write a review when I got back so this is 2 months late!

Hotel: When we first got to the hotel it was quite a fudge up so to speak. We were told there was no air conditioning for 18-30's which was pretty gutting, luckily enough they had huge fans that they rented out so trust me you will need one! They also gave us an extra room. Seeing as we were the only 18-30's there I thought they were just being practical. About 2 days into the stay we were told the room wasn't ours so they told one of my mates to move back into another room! Pain in the bum! On the last day a mate opened the bathroom door and the handle came off so they charged us! So they will charge you for anything so be careful! We pretty much had the pool all to ourselves all day everyday. We had friends staying at different hotels and they had no problems letting them in, unlike the Paradise! A girl with us got an ear infection and had to go to hospital for it, the next day they shut the pool to clean it! A few of us had ear infections when we came back as well, so the pool can be a bit dodgy! We ate there about 5 times during the holiday. The food is brilliant! I do take my hate off to them! Not allowed to make a lot of noise, told to keep it down about 10 times a night but they did say next year it will be a complete 18-30's hotel so you can make as much noise as you want then! The owner is really nice guy, Lucas who also works there is a legend and can't forget Ronaldo! He's a spitting image of him! Top lad! The drinks were not as cheap as you'd think, about 5 lira a beer so thats about £2.50. Food is pretty good priced though. They have a 5 a side football pitch was a lot of fun although its so hot so unless you play when drunk at 6am like we did you'd die! They also have a hammock which is nice to chill out in.

Nightlife: Loadsss of bars and clubs, all of which are pretty good. Club Mood is a good club apart from the owners being mafia! Club Tropicana is a big club which i'd recommend to go to. There's a kebab shop right next to Club tropicana which tastes sooo good! Outback bar was my favourite though. Good indie and rock music decorated like an Aussie bar!

Turkey in general: Soooo hot! At night all you need is a vest and shorts and you are still sweating! Even at 3am its baking hot! So no polo's are needed, I brought about 4 and wore none! Loads of shops and markets which has good fake designer stuff, Abercrombie, Lyle and Scott etc. The beach was good and not a far walk from the hotel.

All in all it was a good holiday. Paradise hotel is better but the owners say next year there will be changes so wait and see!

“Could not recommend enough!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

My best friend and I booked into the Siesta, last minute on a cheap deal. To be honest we did not have high expectations either from the Hotel or Turkey its self because neither of us had been before and being young women we had heard all the horror stories of sleazy men, hassle on the streets and being stolen and sold for camels etc! But when we arrived we were absaloutley delighted! the hotel is not fancy and the rooms are basic...but at the end of the day your just sleeping in them! The pool area was lovely, quiet and relaxing, the sun doesn't stay for long in the afternoon so I would recommend getting down early!
The hotel restaurant was beautiful, the turkish breakfast in the morning was lovely with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, cheese, olives, a boiled egg and bread. just what we needed to set us up for the day. I can quite honestly say we did not eat anywhere else on our whole holiday...there was no need to. From the fresh seafood, steaks to traditional turkish dishes, the restaurant delivered every time!
The staff in the hotel are wonderful, all the guys were very friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for you. The owner of the hotel was also lovely, he worked every night in the restaurant and would make you feel very welcome and we were very well attended to - and if you pick off the 4 available set menus you will get very good value for money.
After dinner there is not much need to go anywhere else apart from next door to the Bar where there is music and dancing untill 2am. The guys in the bar are such a laugh and very talented, they get everyone involved in their little dance routines, i can promise you will never have seen anything like it!! and at 10pm Junior, Ali, Omer and Alican put on a break dance show - you will not be dissapointed - these guys can dance!!
The drinks in the bar are a little more expensive then we thought they would be at 5lira for a pint or a cocktail, but we werent there to get pissed, we were there to enjoy the atmosphere, the company and relax.
I can quite honestly say this was the best holiday we have ever been on, we were totally gutted to have to come home after a week and we cannot wait to go again.
the only thing i do regret is not going for two weeks in the first place!!
I can understand that maybe older more reserved guests would not enjoy the experience as much as we did, but if you are looking for a holiday with a bit or relaxation a bit of fun and alot of friendly faces, i could not recomment the Siesta enough,
enjoy!!
