“Could not recommend enough!!”

My best friend and I booked into the Siesta, last minute on a cheap deal. To be honest we did not have high expectations either from the Hotel or Turkey its self because neither of us had been before and being young women we had heard all the horror stories of sleazy men, hassle on the streets and being stolen and sold for camels etc! But when we arrived we were absaloutley delighted! the hotel is not fancy and the rooms are basic...but at the end of the day your just sleeping in them! The pool area was lovely, quiet and relaxing, the sun doesn't stay for long in the afternoon so I would recommend getting down early!
The hotel restaurant was beautiful, the turkish breakfast in the morning was lovely with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, cheese, olives, a boiled egg and bread. just what we needed to set us up for the day. I can quite honestly say we did not eat anywhere else on our whole holiday...there was no need to. From the fresh seafood, steaks to traditional turkish dishes, the restaurant delivered every time!
The staff in the hotel are wonderful, all the guys were very friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for you. The owner of the hotel was also lovely, he worked every night in the restaurant and would make you feel very welcome and we were very well attended to - and if you pick off the 4 available set menus you will get very good value for money.
After dinner there is not much need to go anywhere else apart from next door to the Bar where there is music and dancing untill 2am. The guys in the bar are such a laugh and very talented, they get everyone involved in their little dance routines, i can promise you will never have seen anything like it!! and at 10pm Junior, Ali, Omer and Alican put on a break dance show - you will not be dissapointed - these guys can dance!!
The drinks in the bar are a little more expensive then we thought they would be at 5lira for a pint or a cocktail, but we werent there to get pissed, we were there to enjoy the atmosphere, the company and relax.
I can quite honestly say this was the best holiday we have ever been on, we were totally gutted to have to come home after a week and we cannot wait to go again.
the only thing i do regret is not going for two weeks in the first place!!
I can understand that maybe older more reserved guests would not enjoy the experience as much as we did, but if you are looking for a holiday with a bit or relaxation a bit of fun and alot of friendly faces, i could not recomment the Siesta enough,
enjoy!!

“Dont buy anything from the hotel, its a rip off 5lira for a bottle of water”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2010

Most rooms have tv's with half a dozen fuzzy turkish channels, air conditioning is £28 a week EXTRA, what a lovely surprise on arrival. We booked B&B, the breakfast is a boiled egg bread and a slice of cheese and a bit tomato and cucumber, if u want an english breakfast instead this will cost 5 lira, which in comparison to some places is quite cheap, however dont be fooled by this as its the only bargain youll find at this hotel, they charge 5 lira for a bottle of water ! There are signs up everywhere telling you that no food or drink purchased anywhere else are allowed in the hotel. The manager is a strange man with a false smile, all the guests were weary of him. The hotel itself is nice and clean and is in an ideal location although the balconys are tiny ,no room for a chair , barely room for one person to stand. Drinks are not recommended, glasses get filled to the brim with ice to help chill the warm drinks poured from bottles sitting in the sun, after the first mouthful your drinking water, and they are expensive compared to other bars. The shop across the road is 2.5 lira for a large bottle of chilled coke , the bar will charge you 5 lira for a small glass with a dribble from the bottom of a bottle . All in all the hotel is ok , just dont buy anything from them. This was my 6th visit to Turkey it was cheap ,i got what i paid for, dont expect the Hilton. Leos bar 2 mins away is fantastic for food , steak especially then next door you have chicos bar which is always jumping , the guys theyre are will make you and your family feel welcome.

“BEST PLACE FOR DINNER IN GUMBET”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

I can't say much about the hotel apart from the pool and the restaurant and bar but from seeing the rubbish reviews i had i to say something!!!
We first walked past and looked at the menu and was not dragged in but was asked appropiate questions and the staff all seemed very intriged and wanting to know if we were enjoying our holiday. We were in Gubet for 2 weeks and had dinner at the sieta hotel 5 times. Every meal we enjoyed and even the waiter Sammy we got on with really well came out with us in the evening and took us to Bodrum to get balloons and a cake for our friend's 21st birthday out there! And he even arranged the birthday meal.
I woukd recommend siesta to everyone best place to go in Gumbet for sure.
