“Lovely Complex But....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2010

Unless you are very fit and athletic I would not recommend these apartments. They are close to nightlife but you have to go up a VERYsteep hill nicknamed cardiac hill by locals and for a good reason. Once you get inside the complex you are then greeted by steps everywhere. We had over 60 steps to our room. Definitely no good for kids, elderly, disabled or coming home drunk. On the positive side the complex is lovely and staff friendly. The living room however does not have a ceiling light only a small wall light so can be very dull.Aircon is charged at £35pw which is very expensive. Although this sounds like a moan this really is a beatiful complex just in a bad location. Only a 2 minute walk to great bars and restaurants and 5 mins to beach. If you do fancy going avoid tour operators and book your own flight and search likes of travelsupermarket.com for accomodation. Cheap transfers can be booked online. Just Google Gumbet transfers. Gumbet is an amazing resort. Great nightlife for all. Forget anything you heard about Turkey being cheap. More expensive than UK. A vodka and coke costs about £3.50 for a very small measure. A coke is about £2. No happy huors like in Spain. If you only drink beer you are ok as about £2 a pint though it is usually watered down. Ask for a bottle. Best tips. Avoid travel agents. Take a taxi to supermarket and stock up rather than use local supermarket.. Enjoy best holiday resort ever. Bars great. Food great everywher particularly beach restaurants. For daytime and late night snacks there are loads of cafes that the locals use a few minutes away where you can get a kebab for 80p. On way baxk to UK buy all your drinks and food before you go to airport. Without a doubt Bodrum airport is the most expensive place on the planet. £3 for a coke, £5 for beer. £2 Mars Bar and £12 for burger and chips. You have been warned.

Hi we stayed in the ozukara 2 apartments from 8th sept for a week, when we got there at 3am we were shown to our room with our 18 month old little boy, apartment was lovely, clean and modern. But we discovered there was no cot for our lil one it was nearly 3.30 am and we needed sleep, went back to reception and asked for a cot and the BOY who was in charge didnt even know what i was asking for, had to wait for the manager to come in at 9am, so none of us sleep as our wee one doesnt sleep in a bed and wouldnt settle, Once i spoke to the manager it was sorted straight away, pity that couldnt have been done when i needed it to.
My husbands mother stayed in the same place the week before and was leaving on the plane we arrived on, so she had left us a bag behind reception with a travel iron food and water which took them 3 days to find, there was only 5 hours from when it was left behind reception and us arriving so god knows how that happened.
The pool area was lovely tho, the maids are great very friendly, it was just stupid things on our hol with this hotel that anoyed me. Staff on at night arent great not much help, but over all the hotel is lovely very cosy, Up a very big hill, so found it hard with the stroller, and alot of steps down to apartments. There is a wee shop just at the top of the steps which is great if you need to pop up for water or something to make to eat. Had a great week turkey is very friendly and met some lovely people. you should go to a bar called chicos, either to party or eat, it is run by a family of brothers, who really make you feel welcome.

“Lovely Apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2009

We stayed at Ozukara II Apartments with our two young children in August. We chose the apartments as they are in a good position but would be fairly quiet at night. They are up the top of a hill but there are 3 ways up and they road past the windmill is not as steep as the other two. It takes a few minutes to walk to the centre of Gumbet and a few minutes further to the beach.

The apartments are spacious, modern, clean and are well equipped with a nice balcony, the downstairs ones have a big balcony and the upper rooms a smaller one. We had asked for a room not too far down the steps as we had a pushchair but we were given an apartment right down the bottom. They did arrange for us to move after a few days to a room further up though so this wasn't a problem. These apartments wouldn't be suuitable though if you have walking difficulties as there are lots of steps.

The rooms were cleaned every other day and we had clean sheets and towels every 2 to 3 days, they also came in to empty the bins every day. The bar, restaurants and grounds were all very clean too.

There was a Turkish night every Friday, although we didn't go oursleves, everyone seemd to enjoy it. The bar and restaurant were nice, we only had lunch a couple of times though so I can't comment on the food too much. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small shop at the top where you can buy bread, water and any other essentials.

The only thing that spoilt our stay slightly was some very rude and arrogant Dutch people who would smash a ball around the pool all day and twice dive bombed the pool so much that they flooded everywhere, the poolside was like a lake and all the water was pouring down the stairs making it slippery, I had to carry my children down as it was unsafe for them to walk. They told us it was ok, it was their holiday and they were entitled to have fun! (Charming people). We complained to the management and they were told to stop and luckily it didn't happen again. It is just a shame such selfish people think they are above everyone else!

Anyway, overall we had a lovely stay at Ozukara II and would choose to return again.
