It is quite bizarre to walk through the front door and find the whole ground level totally empty. Yes, there is a desk in what should be reception, but there is no one there.
If you shouted "hello" it would come back with the echo "hello, hello".
Someone eventually appears and you are directed to the lift and go to the second floor where there is a reception and some people.
The rooms are clean (and extremely spacious if you opt for the senior suite). Everything is quite okay. TV with quite a few channels including BBC World. Very nice bathroom with clean towels and the usual shampoos etc. Hot water too, if you leave it running for five minutes. I asked for an iron and board and also an adaptor to charge my phone. There within five minutes.
The restaurant, which was buffet style for dinner and breakfast, served a surprisingly good variety of food. You could find something to your taste wherever you are from. Top notch cheese and chilli omelette cooked to order for breakfast.
There is also a pastry shop which I did not sample but looked to have a good choice.
There were a severe lack of nightlife options available which was not a surprise.
If you have the misfortune to have to stay in Hafr-Al-Batin for whatever reason then this is the place to go.
