Our family stayed at this hotel with our friends last summer. The location is great! A few minutes from the Kazan Cathedral Nevsky and Nevsky Prospect on foot, next to the bridge with Griffon. Great view from the window on the Griboyedov Canal.
But everything else...
1. The building is old and there is no elevator there. So, to climb the high ladder to the fourth floor after a walk in the hot city is not very good idea, is not it?
2. We had two double rooms of various sizes, but the price was the same. After much discussion at the reception, the price of the smaller numbers have changed in the smaller side.
3. There were only two tables for breakfast and we had to wait for a table free.
Omelette was cooked in the microwave and more looked like a porridge. I've never seen such a meal.
Sausages, salami and cheese were very, very poor quality.
Despite the excellent location, I would not recommend this hote

Dear guest!
Thank you for your opinion. Please find below our comments:
1. A building where the hotel is located is really ancient with its own unique history. It was designed by the architect Keiser and raised in 1879. The Russian Society on pharmaceutical goods trade placed here its offices and storehouses. The owners of the hotel tried to keep in good condition a front staircase with antique fireplace and decorative smithery of banisters, and we are proud of it. In 1998 American producers shot here episodes for a film based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel “Crime and punishment” with participation of famous actors Patrick Dempsey and Julie Delpy.
The information about elevator absence is available through all sources and is not hidden from our guests.
2. All rooms in the hotel are differ from each other by category and size, and the only one comfort double room has no sofa, but has enough space to put an extra European bed for the third person.
3. There are 4 tables in the cafe where breakfasts are served and at the same time it can accommodate up to 10 persons. Sometimes, due to high occupancy, there are no seats, and in this case we offer to serve the breakfast in a room or to wait for a while.
Our breakfast is positioned as continental, that typically consists of tea, coffee and milk or hot chocolate with a variety of sweet cakes. It is often served with juice. The continental breakfast may also include sliced cold meats, such as salami or ham, yogurt or cereal, or a slice of cheese. Some countries of Europe, such as the Netherlands and those in Scandinavia, add fruit and cheese to the bread menu and occasionally a boiled egg or a small serving of salami.
In spite of it we offer more extended assortment including 1 hot dish. And if a guest prefers fried eggs instead of offered omellette or boiled eggs we can cook it at extra charge. All products are always fresh and qualitative.
Faithfully yours,
Kristina Ozhelskaya,
Hotel manager
