“Big hotel for budget groups or conventions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This USSR Brezhnev-era facility was built by Swedes in a remote corner of the Vasilievsky Island. The hotel is big, with long corridors to walk, but if you are with a group traveling together by bus, it's a decent place to stay. Even the nearest metro statoin is pretty far away. Conventions often take place in the premises, making it logistically convenient. But don't expect any luxury, there's shower gel and soap, but that's it - no mini-bar, no hotel cosmetics. Some people may like the aqua-park connected to the hotel.

Room Tip: In a "H" shaped BIG building you may be better of if you don't stay in the very tip of...

“Good for short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

Hotel has enormous tourist dining area, with extensive selection at dinner and breakfast buffets. Rooms have been renovated since soviet era and are comfortable. Multiple ATMs in lobby, apparently unknown to Visa. Location is remote from major sights, but there is a good bus service (No. 7 diesel bus) to Nevsky Prospect; nearest metro station is quite distant. Find out when the bridges lift at night, and get back while it is still possible. Be aware that coach-load processing at the borders can take hours.

“There Must Be Better Choices”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2010

We recently stayed at the Pribaltyiskaya while on tour in the Baltic State and Russia. According to the tour guide, the hotel was built in 1980 for the Olympic Games held in Moscow (the US did not participate that year). Apparently some water events were held in St Petersberg.
Of the 7 hotels we stayed at on this tour, this one was by far the worst. The room was not clean, hair in the bathroom and dust everywhere. The air conditioning was a joke, the vent located on top of the desk. There was no thermostat , only control of the blower (low, med or high) but the high barely had enough power behind it to move any air.I guess in normal conditions this would be okay but we were there during the recent heatwave. The rooms have no in-room safes either. When showering I noticed a strange metalic smell which we later determind to be rust. When we filled the sink, the water was yellowish. The included breakfast was barely edible and sparse. For the first time in my life I could not eat the bacon. I cannot tell you name of a better hotel in St Petersburg but I know there must be better choices.

“Low standard, too remote”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

There are probably much better places to stay in St. Petersburg. Pribaltiskaya is a huge hotel (> 2000 beds) in a remote location, nothing worth to see in the direct surrounding of it. It takes app. 30 minutes to go downtown by bus or metro (10 minutes distance). Service is chaotic, breakfast low standard. Rooms are ok. WiFi costs extra. Prices in the bar / restaurant much too high. Never order a taxi in the hotel, the ones they get you are double of the normal price!

“Accomodation Good - service can be better.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2009

I stayed at Park Inn Pribaltiskaya from 28 Sept till 05 Oct . The rooms are big and comfortable . The room service have no provision to make your food warm ( micro wave) if you are carrying your food from outside. I opted for a laundry service ( 29.09.2009) and paid for the charges at the time of delivery at my room for which I was given a receipt. But while checking out I was asked for making of payment once again as their computer shows the due amount ( Ru 200.00) . However, I was lucky enough to keep my bill with me from the first day and even after showing the bill it took nearly 15 mins. for them to settle.
