Moscow in December is not a pleasant place...its still dark at 10am and its cold...
However, the staff at this Holiday Inn make this the warmest spot in town
Although there are always lots of tourists, this is really a good business hotel. Slightly out of town but with easy access, as much as possible in a city of over 400 square miles, there is a metro station nearby and its on the ring road
But its the staff that really make the difference between this hotel and others
Always a personal welcome, a room on the executive floor, late check out
Special mentions are Victor behind the bar, who remembers everyone and their drink and Sergey on Front desk (has is stopped snowing yet Sergey?)
Its a very relaxed atomosphere which is what you need during the long dark days
Hotel is well located for business — near metro an on the 3rd Moscow Ring. Breakfast is good also.
Wifi is surprising expensive — 20€ a day is crazy. Guys, there is 2012 knocking in the doors!
Stay there for business trip last October 2010
Book through travel agent, check in was handled efficiently.
Standard Holiday inn hotel, Room was clean, their housekeeping & laundry team did a very good job.
Metro station is near, and we can also find KFC if we bored of expensive hotel food. Next to hotel there is a supermarket, but the keeper were not good in English.
It's far from major tourist attraction. So, it's OK for business trip but it's better to search for other option for vacation.
My request for late check out and shuttle to airport also handled efficiently. Good point.
In Moscow Holiday Inn has 5 or 6 hotels. The Suschevsky is right opposite a Metro station, so easy if you want to travel by metro (3 stops to the Red Square), and alwayse some taxis awaiting outside as well. The breakfast is OK (but expensive), as is the bar (cheapest wodka around 6 E per small glass...); wifi not free. But the roooms are well designed, comfortable, good quality of bed (unfortunately in no smoking rooms only two singles instead of one double). It is good value for money (when you drink your wodka in your room).
