“Not simply excellent, but outstanding!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Many people believe the luxury of a hotel consists of pompous entrances, glamorous lobby and long coridors. Barvikha hotel is a quite, minimalistic hotel in upmarket suburbs of the Russian capital for those who know, what they want. The details in the service make the difference. Even newspaper in Greek language downloaded fresh from the internet and printed exclusivelly for us.
No such service you can find in other 5 stars hotels in Europe let alone USA.
The rooms like mini suites, wood-in the floor and the walls , double washing basin , free private (or public) swimming , pool in the basement ,two 50 inches tv etc. Simplicity with luxury. Quality for non nouveau rich. Not for those who want to be in the city center but for those who enjoy quality . Next door is the Barvikha shopping VillageCenter and the Dream Comlex.

Room Tip: luxury in simplicity. dont ask anything . they know what you need.

“Good, but not excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

Artificial "luxury village" complex on the probably most famous street in russia "Rublevo Shosse". Everything there is overtrimmed as to meet the "requirements" of the super-rich ones. The hote as a result is not really frequented - to me it always gives a certain uncomfort if there are more employees at last than guests. Nice Spa area with lovely pool, sauna divided to men and women area with simple finish sauna and turkish steam bath aswel as cold/warm water dive pool. Outstanding "spa-menu" with numerous exclusive treatmens, though spa-reception located on the ground floor - so if you don't organize yourself in advance it's inconvenient to move upstairs again as to deal with a treatment booking. All-over staff is willing / trying to do their best as to comfort you, unfortunately some clearly lack experience and training what might interfer with your plans to relax and enjoy yourself. Breakfast offers everything needed the same as the bar and roomservice ("butlerservice"). Dinner choice from 2 different menus, one under responsibility of famous russian chef Anatoly Komm (if you really want to experience his philosophy of food though i recommend to visit the flagship restaurant "Varvary" downtown moscow). Room flawless - big space, modern, all needed facilities and gadgets - only the balcony with closed view (tribute to the design of the building) does not really invite as to spend time.

Bottomline:
For sure a good Spa Hotel - esp. compared to the local competitors BUT scaled on international standarts - regardless the "Leading Small Hotels of the World Membership" - overpriced; price-level though simply fits the main clientele - the super rich locals that want to pamper themselves with a "resort-treat"

“Great hotel, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2011

Excellent hotel and finally one that really offers 5-star service in Russia. Very nice spa, large rooms, nice atmosphere. Just a bit far from the city center for a private visit, but excellent to escape the city for a few day.
