We had a really great stay at this hotel. From the time we arrived the owners took great care of us. Upon our arrival they were able to book us right into a tour of the Uros Islands, organize bus tickets for us and make restaurant suggestions for dinner. They also brought Coca tea to our room to help with altitude sickness. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. Overall it was one of the nicest places we found in Peru. Though slightly more expensive than a hostel, it was worth the splurge.
This place has fantastic people and wonderful accommodations. It is very clean and modern despite a worn lime green and glass facade on a rugged-looking (totally safe) street. It is a 10 minute walk to the main plaza and Jr. Lima shops and restaurants.
Best breakfast (and free!) of the trip with fresh fruits, breads, five different juices, and more. The rooms are very spacious (we had a double room which included one queen size and one full size bed), heater, and large bathroom with ceramic tile and very hot water. We were even able to leave our luggage in the room as it was the off-season and no one messed with our things, only came back to find a clean room. The front desk assistant Solidad came up to our room to wish us good luck with our trip as she wouldn't be at the front desk the morning we left.
Great people, great rooms, great service, good location.
What I loved the most about this nice hotel was the staff. Extremely friendly and helpful. If you want a very affardable, yet cute, clean and central hotel, stay here. The people very very honest, the room were nice, and the buffet breakfast was a real buffet, unlike most of the hotels where I stayed in Peru.
The Mosoq Inn has a lot of things going for it: a nice breakfast, excellent cable tv channel selection (I mean really, what else are you going to do in Puno at night?), decent rooms and a wonderful staff. Stay here and you won't regret it.
