“Good location, good value and a GREAT shower”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I stayed here for three nights and was very pleased with this hotel. It is situated near the main part of town on a very safe road and is easy walking distance from restaurants and shops. The corner outside does serve as a busy bus stop so there is a lot of traffic at most hours of the day. I had no trouble sleeping but it might be a problem for really light sleepers.

The staff were very helpful. I had organised a tour of the islands which fell through and they took it upon themselves to help me out in organising s replacement. They were also very accommodating when I wanted to book airport transfers, even calling the airlines to check my flights and making sure I would get there in time.

The room itself was small but clean and comfortable. I was most impressed with the shower which was hands down the best one I had throughout my whole stay in south america. There is free wifi and a computer downstairs for guests. Coca tea and filtered water is also available at the front desk. I would definitely stay here again

“Good location, good value, basic accommodation”

I stayed here for 1 night either side of a trip from Puno.

The hotel is well located near to bars and restaurants and is a short taxi ride from the bus station.

The room was clean but tired. There was cable tv for the first night but this was broken the 2nd night. WiFi didn't work either night.

Staff were friendly but only had a few words of English. Breakfast was cheese, ham, bread and a selection of juices and cereals.

“Comfortable and centrally located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We stayed here for two nights and were satisfied by the room and location and were very impressed by the staff.

* The rooms are simple but comfortable and functional.

* We had no problem with hot water.

* The Wi-Fi worked fine.

* The complete breakfast was very good.

* The staff was very helpful and friendly, but we don’t know how much English is spoken in this hotel (not a problem for us). Juan, the driver recommended by the hotel manager for our Sillustani visit, was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, but most comfortable in Spanish.

* The location is good. You're a couple of blocks the main square in town, but aren't right in the middle of it. There seemed to be a marching band competition in town while we were there (seriously) so we did hear some noise, but that's probably unusual, and in any case, it was in the daytime.

Watch out for the altitude in Puno! Even though we were coming from a week in Cuzco, we were still hit by the altitude. We were staying on the second level (no lifts) and renamed the first level landing 'base camp' as it was a good place to wait and catch our breath ;-) After we left Puno, we landed in Arequipa, where suddenly gravity and stairs weren't a big deal anymore.
