“A great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

I had not been here since 2006 and was pleasantly surprised by the changes, including The Wreck restaurant. The rooms were as good as i recall, with very comfortable beds - the duvet weight is just right, the shower is excellent and a nice touch is the liquid soaps in the shower as well as at the basin. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception as well as at breakfast.

Arrived on Sunday, so The Wreck was unfortunately closed. One of the best places to stay in Swakopmund, with the ocean at your doorstep. Ideal for business and family.

My permanent choice in Swakop! Well done - keep up your excellent service.

“Very friendly and scenic, would definitely stay there again”

We stayed here for 2 nights in a family room that consisted of 2 bedrooms - a twin and a double with sea views. It also had a kitchenette with a fridge and table and chairs. Ours was a ground floor room with sliding doors to a patio and access to the gardens and beach. The accomodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. Beach Lodge is a little way from the centre of Swakopmund but as a result is in a quiet area. It is very easy to find from the main centre.

We ate at the restaurant (The Wreck - this overlooks the beach) both nights and really enjoyed the food. It was probably the best we had in Namibia.

The hotel receptionist was very friendly and helpful and offered to book trips for us into the desert or a boat trip from Walvis Bay. She was also able to advise us as to where to stock up on food supplies, fuel and the nearest ATM. There is plenty to do from Beach Lodge and we would definitely stay here again if returning to Swakopmund. Highly recommended.

“Good location on the beach. Very good value for money”

One of only a couple of hotels in Swakopmund which is directly on the beach. Though small it has an excellent restaurant; a good buffet breakfast is provided, and dinner in the evenings is very good indeed. You have to make a specific reservation for dinner each night in good time because it is very popular with non-resident local people and it is usually full every night. The architecture of the hotel is intriguing - look at the pictures on their website. Might make you think of Portmerion in North Wales, where the 1960s TV series The Prisoner was created ! (Interestingly, a remake of The Prisoner was made in Swakopmund a couple of years ago) .
The rooms and their ensuites are of good quality and ours (ground floor) had a patio overlooking the front landscaped grassed area going directly onto the beach. Upstairs rooms all have balconies.
We were there a week - excellent rest and relaxation . We did of course do a couple of trips - Sandwich Bay, the "Moonscape", inland desert, Swakop and Khan river valleys, apart from going round and seeing the attractions of Swakopmund town itself . Overall a great experience which we can strongly recommend for visitors to Namibia.

“Interesting hotel shape with huge round windows viewing the Atlantic”

A nice, clean, quiet hotel on the beach with views out the immense "porthole" windows. Not really a swimming beach, for great for a stroll. The restaurant is very good, especially for sea food. It is an easy drive into the city of Swakopmund. Go to the street market for local crafts.

“Best deal in Swakopmund Namibia”

We spent 3 weeks in namibia and stayed at 10 different hotels/guest houses.
This place offers the best value for money.

Even the restaurant , the "Wreck" was the best of all.

Only rating that will do justice to this establishment is 10/10.
