We stayed here for two nights as part of a small group tour of Namibia. The place is centrally situated in Swakop with many restaurants, shops and bars within a short walking distance.
The building itself is pleasant enough being loosely modeled on a south German Alpine style. There is an adjacent bar which we didn't go in because smoking is sadly still allowed in Namibian bars and restaurants - its surprising how quickly we've got used to the non-smoking idea.
Our room was quite nice with a decent bathroom and a room safe but strangely inadequate lighting. Breakfasts were of a very good standard but the waiting staff clearly didn't like getting up in the morning and miserable Michelle just couldn' manage a smile. Lots of Germans, as you would expect, all tucking in to hearty breakfast bear testament to the food standard. Didn't try the restaurant as there's too much choice out there. Swakop is a nice little town with more to it than the capital really.

I stayed at the Europahof over Christmas 07. The staff were friendly and the breakfast pretty decent (fantastic German bread), the room was o.k. The wooden floors and walls, although they look lovely, do mean that noise travels and a small group on the move sounds like a herd of elephants. I would stay here again if the price was right (I found it a bit expensive for the standard but don't know if thats just the popularity of the overall area).

simple rooms, at least have heating, due to fog coming in from the sea nights get cold in winter,
bathroom looks quite used ;-), floor in bathroom may be heated,
