We travelled here for a wonderful 2 weeks in mid November 2011. I have been prompted to add a review as a result of a few comments. I would endorse wholeheartedly the positive reviews for this resort. Though our first few days were marred by poor weather, when the sun finally came out it was absolutely glorious. The staff work extremely hard and are always polite and attentive. We took the dolphin cruise, the trip to Kuramathi and the snorkelling trip, all well worth doing. In particular the dolphin cruise was amazing with scores of dolphins leaping and racing alongside the boat. The “behind scenes tour” was really interesting to get an insight into the logistics of running the resort. The all-inclusive plus is advised enabling you to sip a cold beer watching the sun go down. A good mix of people of varying nationalities with a much laid back feel. The food was magnificent with a great variety and the desserts, in particular, meant we piled on a few pounds despite best intentions and tring to be active in the day.
A motivation for this review are the comments by Hyacinth Bucket types who seem to think their money is better than others. We travelled with Kuoni and were impressed but so what if First Choice have added the island, the resort is hardly “a little secret” How you can complain about the food on one hand and then say it is too “rich” because there was a choice of goose, bison and boar is beyond me – some people are never satisfied!. We found the chef to be friendly, approachable and obviously proud of his team’s handiwork. Similarly the Tunisian food and beverage manager was extremely helpful asking our opinion on several occasions and arranging a breakfast on our JWV balcony at short notice.
Things we found particularly memorable were 2 dinners on the beach, champagne breakfast on our balcony, sun set from the villa, snorkelling daily from the sandspit with sharks, rays and a multitude of coloured fish.As we were relatively late risers, it was only on the last day we watched a dozen reef sharks in the lagoon chasing fish and followed them along the beach– should have got up earlier!
I would thoroughly recommend this resort for a relaxing holiday and I hope we will return one day
