stayed at hyatt kota kinabalu for 1 night only and was very impressed with the room..booking for deluxe room but was upgraded to deluxe club room because my friends is a government servant and we ask for high level room but all was full so we get a club room that located in high floor.the hotel is newly refurbished and looking impressive,oppulent and brand new..i really fall in love with the room layout.very unique with the separate wash basin from toilet(first i've seen this kind of open basin).the bathroom complete with large bath tub and high pressure separate rain shower..the room that i stay have a large king bed and a small sofa corner bed facing kota kinabalu city view on a large full floor-ceiling glass..it has 40inch lcd tv and the decor was very nice..you must stay here,it was different from seeing in image!the room look impressive with large wood panel as a head board.the room it self is so vast..the pool is large but i didnt try the breakfast because dont have enough time..the staff also very friendly and love to smile!will definitely stay here if i go to kota kinabalu!the best in town!near to a new surian sabah(shopping complex)and just stone away from waterfront.you can just walk to get nice seafood restaurant!

Stayed in the Hyatt in KK for 3 nights and was impressed with the level of accommodation and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Have to agree with a number of other reviews that in the downstairs foyer area etc. it does look a bit tired in places, but the rooms have recently been renovated and I found them to be excellent. Very large with big comfortable beds and full wall windows. I had a harbour view room - definitely worth it for the view. Someone mentioned that when the rooms were renovated, they removed the balconies and extended the rooms out, definitely noticeable in the large size of the rooms.

Only downside was probably the breakfast which wasn't really up to the standard I'd expect for a Hyatt, but other than that would recommend the hotel for convenience and very high quality rooms. Good location within the centre of KK and very easy to get taxis etc. and walk around town.

Also ate in the Japanese restaurant and thought the food was excellent

I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and I loved the open plan bathroom with sliding doors, so that you can see the panoramic views from your bath tub. The food is good, and the service of a good standard. I did not like Kota Kinabalu much (although the weather was not good at all and therefore, the attractions were really limited), but the hotel saved the trip from a total disaster.

We had a flying visit arriving at 8pm in KK and checking out at 7am. The Hyatt organised a car for us (pricey at 52 MR but luxurious and so worth it!). The outside of the Hyatt is pretty unimpressive, but inside is another thing. The problem with Malaysian Borneo is that they smoke - and we were unlucky to get a smoking room (it stank) but it was huge and very tastefully decorated and very modern with a great business desk and couch, large LCD tv and dvd player and glass fronted shower/toilet area which could be opened up to create the feeling of more space or a screen drawn around the basin to enclose the whole area of privacy - brilliant! Our alarm call came on time and breakfast was well laid out and a great range to choose from. Its in a great location for the shops, markets and boats to the islands.
