Spent one night here but wished we had stayed next door at the Novotel which had a nice pool.
The Courtyard does have a nice outdoor bar/breakfast area and the laundry service was very efficient.
Location is within shopping mall which is OK if you want to shop

we stayed in courtyard for a night since we will be heading to shangri-la rasa ria the next day. the rooms are quite spacious although the pillows are rock hard. nice tv and the bathroom looked really clean and newly renovated. ample storage is available.

highlight of the hotel for me is their breakfast area - the outdoor seating on the 6th floor is great. actual breakfast selection is average but i liked their seating area very much. the indoor lounge looked promising, as well.

location is good, depending on your purpose. since we are using this as a halfway point to rasa ria, it served it's purpose. hotel is literally in a mall so last minute items are easy to grab. taxi availability is also good.

hallways are a bit too cramped and reeked of detergent. elevator is too small esp if you have big luggage. but overall since we really didnt stay too long in this hotel, it served it's purpose and wasnt really a disappointment. it was good value for the money. thankfully breakfast is good.

i would probably stay here again but would probably look around for other options, as well.

My stay in Courtyard Hotel wasn't that pleasant, the service provided by the front officers were horrible! Lack of product knowledge & unable to converse in English, the bigger issue is they did not pay RESPECT to the customers! I even filled in the comment form & submitted to the GM, but till now I have not received any response~ not even apologies!

None of my requests were answered, I requested for Chinese newspaper and the rude front officer told me to come down to the lobby & read the newspaper myself! Fine, then I requested for an extra keycard since there were 2 of us. She said NO again, only 1 keycard per room! What type of service was that?!

The room allocated is damn far away from the lift, it took perhaps 6-8 minutes from the lift to my room! The room was small (as expected), without any windows since it was a courtyard room- I suppose. And the reception of the TV wasn't good!

Speaking of its location, it is located quite far away from KK city centre. It would be kinda difficult to travel unless you rent a car (although there's free shuttle from 1Borneo to the city centre). The hotel is connected to this new shopping mall in KK, 1 Borneo. This wouldn't be a good place to stay if you would like to explore more in your trip (unless you only wanna do shopping & limited yourself in one shopping mall). Advisable to stay in KK city centre for convenience- just my 2-cent advice :)

Anyways, the restaurant whereby we had buffet breakfast was cool~ I liked the design and enjoyed the view from restuarant. The F&B staffs were helpful, unlike the front officers. This is the same restuarant whereby you can go to have a drink at night!

The Hotel is situated not in the centre of Kota Kinabalu, but quite 10 km out and everytime you have to get a taxi to get to the city.
Is situated near a shopping centre mall, really good.
The room was not we expected by seeing it on internet website Agoda.
Bad things: to get from reception to room you have to pass a long corridor smelling of close and with holes in the roof...the elevator was like a metal box, without mirror or any funny thing. The hotel is under construction, and if you take stair instead of the elevator, you will be terrified...it seems as it has passed the second world war!! the bed caused skin irritations to both me ad my husband, maybe because of the powder behind it and achari...for two days at breakfast there was a green cake with hunts inside and around it...the laundry service has mixed up our apparel with our frined's apparel (fortunately were our friend and not any other room!!)not really a paradise!!! Good things: the kindness of the staff, free wi-fi at the hall
