We were a little concerned about our impending stay at the Comfort Hotel Saga because the cost (9000 yen per night for 2) was very cheap compared with other hotels and we felt this may affect the quality of the place. We need not have worried. It was brilliant! Our room was much larger than we expected with 2 large single beds, small wardrobe, desk, 2 chairs and small coffee table. There was enough room for our cases without tripping over them. Bathroom was compact, as were all the others we encountered in Japan.. The room was extremely clean and quiet. Free internet access was available in the room and also on a computer in the lobby. There was even a laundromat on our floor of the hotel, which was a very welcome sight and a chance to 'catch up on the laundry'. The staff were extremely friendly and we were pleasantly surprised to have the added bonus of a free breakfast in the lobby each morning. It is literally 1 min (if that) from the train station. Would highly recommend to anyone and would not hesitate to stay there again.

“New hotel, great room, dull town”

This is a new hotel, and my room was clean, very attractive, and well-designed. The hotel is right next to the train station, which is very convenient. My room had lots of light for reading, and a plasma TV. It was really quite pleasant. The hotel provides a free breakfast, standard for Comfort Hotels in Japan. I made my reservation on www.choicehotels.com, and paid 5,040 yen for a single room.
Many Comfort Hotels in Japan appear to be older business hotels that have been renovated and re-branded as Comfort Hotels. This one was built new as a Comfort Hotel, and it shows that they have learned about hotel design from experience. In that sense, it's not that different than staying at a Toyoko Inn.
There is little for the tourist to do in Saga, but if you like pottery, I'd recommend taking the train to Arita, where it's a 25-
minute walk from the train station to the Arita Ceramics Wholesalers plaza, a little shopping center of pottery and porcelain stores, with good quality merchandise and many stores that charge 30% off standard prices.

- Disliked — The city of Saga has little for tourists to do.
