“Pancake heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Spent a wonderful weekend in the Vorhees room June 2011. The room was clean and bright, and temperature and humidity was perfect. After having the most blissful sleep in their comfortable bed, we woke up to the delicious smell of buckwheat pancakes. These were the most fluffy pancakes I have eaten in a long time, and there was also a generous helping of fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt, and chicken sausage. June was incredibly helpful with directions, providing us with maps to get to the river/canalways. After a full day of kayaking, the next morning, we were treated to french toast, fruit, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs. Both John and June were warm and hospitable, I look forward to returning in the future.

“If Plato had an Ideal B&B this would be it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

Transport yourself to a simpler time, of cabbage roses, high tea, fresh raspberries with mint sprigs....500 acre farm with 300 year old farm house, restored to perfection. Lovely antiques put to good use, peaceful library with board games, menu on demand included homemade blueberry pancakes, omelets and a rasher of bacon. The style in June's design sense is inspired--she makes Martha Stewart look like Mike Tyson.......the friendly, easy hospitality John exudes is disarming and charming. We cannot wait to rush back there. I am as relaxed as a noodle recalling the atmosphere. They converse without being chatty, the hospitality is impeccable.

Room Tip: Voorhees room is good it ahs a tub and shower, is ground level and beautiful

“INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

INCREDIBLE!!!!! I stayed at Halycon Farms for a business trip. Having stayed at every hotel from Motel 6 to the St. Regis I can fully recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone. June welcomed me and made sure I received the ultimate treatment - customized breakfast, even changed the batteries in my remote control when I thought they were dead (they werent actually). To the person who says June was chatty - I think they just aren't traveled enough to know the difference btwn a hotel and b&b experience. If you want a mindless experience stay somewhere corporate. Every morning was a new and delicious breakfast - NO powdered eggs or burnt coffee and soggy oatmeal like you get at a Hilton continental breakfast. Halcyon Farms was organic, fresh and savory. My room was huge, with rich mahogany appointments - even a classic Louis Vuitton trunk from the 1930s. I enjoyed the enormous bubble bath in my room every night. The view each morning was incredible as well. Stay here if you want excellent service, incredible food and a superbly relaxing atmosphere!

Room Tip: I chose the Magnolia Room becaues it has a giant bubble bath. A real treat after a stressful day! De...

“Peaceful large old brick farmhouse with absolute quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We stayed in the Halcyon Room on the way to Cape Cod and again on our return trip. Looking out of the bathroom window the first evening, there were geese feeding in the large field in front of the house. If you are looking for a truly peaceful historic home loaded with family antiques and treasures, you will love this B and B. Not a sound at any time at night. The room was large, extremely clean, with excellent bedding quality. We ate at Parillo's Italian restaurant both nights which has superb food at great prices. The Inn itself is set back from the road and if not for our GPS, we might have had problems getting around at night in this rural area. Breakfasts have been described already by others and they are accurate reviews. The last morning we had corn pancakes made with corn picked fresh that morning! All the food is from their garden, even the potatoes. We would love to go back again. Thanks, June and John, for opening your beautiful home to us and for treating us like royal guests.

Room Tip: There are rooms on both floors if you can't do steps easily. No steps outside. Close parking.
