The hotel met our requests for a quiet room on a high floor with a view. The hotel was professionally run with bell boys to help with the luggage.
The room was clean, tidy, quiet and large.
The ground floor buffet had good western food but many dishes were not replinished and closed at 9.30pm. However this was mainly because most diners ate early.
The hotel is conveniently located near shops but the bus and rail stations were about 10 minutes walk.
Taking a bus trip to Takayama is recommended but a full day is required for this trip.
The tourist information office at the rail station is very helpful.
