We stayed 5 nights, which is quite long for us to stay anywhere. But had a great time. We took the hotel shuttle into the old town a few times. And we took the bikes a couple of times. Once to the beach, and once to the old town. It was interesting to cycle the straight road and appreciate all the honking, letting us know they were right behind us! Rather than just thinking Vietnam is so noisy :). Went for a dip in the pool a couple of times, which was just what was needed after a hot day. Breakfast was lovely, up on the rooftop. And rooms were a very nice place to retreat into the air-con and watch movies after being in the heat. My husband really enjoyed Son restaurant across the road. Maybe next time I would stay at a beach resort and take the hotel shuttle to the old town. But if we had done so, I wouldn't have taken the bike ride, in amongst the locals, which was such great fun, and a real experience. We had lunch at one of the beach resorts, so you can still enjoy their facilities, without paying to stay there.
